Al Pacino prompted a wave of speculation this week after he was spotted wearing what looked like a wedding band while attending an event for Leonardo DiCaprio’s upcoming film One Battle After Another.
The ring was clearly visible on the legendary actor’s left hand as he mingled with guests and posed for photos at the December 4th gathering, quickly igniting rumors that the famously private star may have secretly tied the knot.
Those whispers, however, were swiftly shut down. A representative for Pacino confirmed that he is not married, putting an end to the speculation surrounding the unexpected accessory. The Father Joe actor has never been married, despite a number of high-profile and long-term relationships over the years. Most recently, he was romantically linked to film producer Noor Alfallah, 32, with whom he shares a two-year-old son named Roman.
In October 2024, Pacino told People that he was not in a relationship, though he noted that he maintains a close friendship. His representative later clarified that Pacino and Alfallah are “very good friends, have been for years, and are co-parents to their son Roman.”
Pacino is also the father of 24-year-old twins Anton and Olivia, whom he shares with actress Beverly D’Angelo, 74. The former couple welcomed the twins via IVF in 2001 after meeting five years earlier on a flight from Los Angeles to New York.
D’Angelo has previously recalled how quickly their relationship took shape. She once said they were together by the time the plane landed and that Pacino knew early on that he wanted children with her.
In a 2017 interview with Closer US, D’Angelo reflected on the moment Pacino made his intentions clear. “After we’d known each other for three months, [Al] looked me in the eyes and said, ‘I want you to be the mother of my children,’” she said. “That’s all I had to hear.”She added, “I got pregnant at 48, delivered six weeks after I was 49, and by 51, I was looking at a landscape as a single parent.
”The couple split in 2003 and later endured a bitter custody battle, though they ultimately settled the dispute and went on to rebuild a friendship. Before his relationship with D’Angelo, Pacino dated acting coach Jan Tarrant from 1988 to 1990. The former couple share a daughter, filmmaker Julie Pacino, now 36.
In recent years, it has also been claimed that Pacino regrets never marrying Diane Keaton, his longtime on-and-off partner and co-star in The Godfather films. Keaton, who died at age 79 in October, previously admitted she had a crush on Pacino during the filming of the first Godfather in 1971, though their relationship did not turn romantic until they reunited for The Godfather Part II in 1974.
The pair portrayed on-screen couple Kay Adams-Corleone and Michael Corleone and maintained a real-life, on-and-off relationship from 1971 to 1987. They eventually split in 1990, reportedly because Pacino would not commit to marriage.
A friend of the actor later told MailOnline that Pacino always considered Keaton the love of his life. “Looking back, Al admits the love of his life was Diane, who he’s always called ‘an amazing woman,’” the insider said. “I know he will forever regret he didn’t make his move when he had the chance.”
The source added that Pacino once believed fate could offer second chances. “For years after he and Diane split, Al used to say, ‘If it’s meant to be, it’s never too late for a do-over.’ But sadly, now it is.”
Despite living just miles apart in Beverly Hills for years, the former couple reportedly never reconnected. “Though he and Diane both lived in Beverly Hills, only a few miles from each other, they never spoke,” the insider said. “I once asked him why, and he told me, ‘There’s no need to talk with each other. We said everything that needed to be said at the time.’”
