George and Amal Clooney are making time for each other. The couple was photographed over the weekend in Cassis, a small fishing town in the south of France, with the two enjoying the weather and a romantic dinner.
The pair was photographed looking elegant as they went on a walk. For the occasion, Amal looked as stylish as always, wearing a green peacoat that she matched with black tights, a cream colored turtleneck, and black leather boots. She completed the look with some sunglasses, with her hair styled straight.
George looked comfortable in grey slacks, a blue shirt, and a matching zip-up, completing the look with sunglasses and brown loafers.
The pair stayed at the famous hotel Les Roches Blanches for a weekend getaway that followed weeks of hard work and promotion for George's new film, "Jay Kelly," which earned Clooney a Golden Globe nomination. The pair were spotted enjoying their weekend together, with them going to various restaurants, enjoying the town, and Clooney driving them in his Aston Martin Vanquish.
Following their weekend together, the pair returned to their residence, the Château du Canadel, where they reunited with their kids.
Clooney's work on 'Jay Kelly'
Clooney plays the lead role in "Jay Kelly," portraying an aging actor who's considering retirement, and comes to the realization that throughout his life, he's prioritized his work over his relationships. In one of the movie's key scenes, Clooney is seen watching a highlight reel of his career. The moment surprised Clooney, with the director using real footage of his career over the years.
“The first time he shot, it was the first time he showed it to me,” said Clooney to PEOPLE. “The first take is in the movie. I was really surprised by that — and a little disturbed,” he continued. “It's hard. You have to really fortify yourself to see 40 years of aging on screen. It's not so easy with a bad mullet. It's not great.”
As he's discussed the project, Clooney has noted the parallels between himself and his character, sharing that while work has long been a priority for him, he's now in a place where he can also make the time for his wife, children, and family.
"Because Amal and I both tend to focus on trying to accomplish things. We've gotten much better at spending time with our kids," he said in an interview with USA Today. "Listen, nobody gets it right. I don't get it right. You probably don't get it right. But we do the best we can. I'm not mad at my parents for missing things when I was a kid because they were putting food on the table."
