Selena Gomez’s mother‑in‑law, Sandra Levin, found herself in a terrifying situation Monday night. Two masked burglars broke into her Studio City home around 9:30 pm, and she reacted quickly and swiftly.

Sandra, who is divorced, was home alone when two intruders forced their way inside by shattering a side sliding door, triggering the alarm. Per NBC Los Angeles, according to police, she ran upstairs and locked herself in a bathroom.

The burglars - two men wearing dark colored clothing and masks - made their way upstairs, but when she peered out the door, and they realized someone was home, they panicked and fled.

It’s a scary, surreal moment, but thankfully, no one was hurt, and nothing appears to have been stolen. It's unclear if they were armed.

Police arrived and were seen entering through the shattered glass door, with the remains falling to the ground. Footage obtained by KTLA5.

Sandra wasn't the only one who was likely freaking out. She is very close to her son, Benny Blanco, who might try to get her to move into their guest house after the terrifying incident.

“My mom’s my best friend,” Blanco told People in 2024. “Every Sunday we go to the farmer’s market. I cook her lunch, we swim, we gossip about stuff.”

Benny Blanco and his mom Sandra, are "best friends"

Blanco was raised in Virginia and Maryland by his mom and dad, Andrew Levin. They have an older son named Jeremy. Sandra worked at an assisted‑living facility while Andrew had a career in the “intimate apparel business," per PEOPLE.

Blanco has credited that upbringing for igniting his creativity. “Ever since I was like a baby, I was into music,” he said in a 2021 Augustman interview. “I would always like to bang on the pots and pans.”

He would also entertain his mom's guests, blasting one of her favorite albums, Prince’s 1992 Love Symbol. “I would get in my underwear, and I would dance to ‘Sexy M.F.’ when she had guests over,” he said.

Sandra not only supported his interest in music but also helped him when it came to the opposite sex. He told InStyle in June 2025, “My mom always took the time to explain how a female mind works because she was going through so many dating traumas when I was growing up," he said. "Her resilience taught me to find the good in each day. I’ve had some tough times, but I've always been, like, a very happy person. I just wake up stoked every day.”

When Gomez and Blanco began dating, Sandra made it clear she approved of Selena - and fans noticed. In an Instagram video shared by Gomez, Sandra was wearing a locket with a photo of Benny and Selena.
