Donald Trump is sharing just how much his son Barron respects Cristiano Ronaldo. Earlier this week, Ronaldo was one of the guests at a special dinner at the White House, prompting a meeting between the Portuguese soccer player and different members of the Trump family.
Trump addressed his guests in the evening, sharing that facilitating a meeting between Ronaldo and his youngest son Barron earned him some important points as a dad.
“Barron got to meet him. And I think he respects his father a little bit more, now, just the fact that I introduced you,” said Trump in his speech.
Ronaldo was one of the guests for a dinner at the White House welcoming the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Bin Salman. He's become the major representative of the Saudi Arabian soccer league, becoming an ambassador for it and living there since 2022, when he signed his first contract with Al-Nassr.
He was excited to have met Trump, sharing various posts on Instagram, including a joint post with the White House that shows him laughing at something that Trump is saying. He also shared a post with some photographs of himself and his partner, Georgina Rodrigue,z standing next to Trump. Other images show the two shaking hands and walking through the White House.
"Thank you Mr. President for your invitation and for the warm welcome you and the First Lady gave me and my future wife, Georgina. Each of us has something meaningful to give, and I stand ready to do my part as we inspire new generations to build a future defined by courage, responsibility, and lasting peace," he wrote.
Ronaldo knew that Barron was a fan of his work
While Ronaldo only recently met Trump, the two have been aware of each other for years, with Ronaldo sharing his respect for him on previous occasions.
In an appearance on "Piers Morgan: Uncensored," Ronaldo shared his awareness of Barron's appreciation for him. In the interview, Ronaldo revealed that he was a fan of Trump and was interested in meeting him. “I wish one day to meet him [and] sit with him because he’s one of the [people] that I really like,” he said.
“I think he can make things happen, and I like people like that.”
After Morgan told Ronaldo that Barron was a fan of him, Ronaldo said, “His son can come as well. We [can] do a debate. Who is the most famous in the world: me or Donald Trump?”
