Kevin Costner is entering a new stage in his life. After the end of his 18 marriage with Christine Baumgartner, Costner is embracing life as a bachelor, with its many perks and drawbacks. In a recent interview and the new song he released with his band "Kevin Costner & Modern West," the artist is sharing the challenges of spending the holidays alone.
Costner opened up about his holiday plans with US Weekly. “I think when they were younger, there were things that were more repetitive,” he said. “Now you’re just fighting to get them home from college or fight… You know what I mean, just getting together. So, I do the best I can to make it as warm as I can.”
He also shared that the responsibility of making the holidays enjoyable fell wholly on him. "And I’m a bachelor, so I kind of miss those, like, really cute things to do, you know, so I have to work especially hard to make sure there’s that stuff that they think about and remember,” he said.
Earlier this week, Costner and his band shared the music video for the song "Find Your Way," which touches upon loneliness, especially when faced with the holidays, which are touted as the happiest time of the year for many people.
"I know all too well how hard the holidays can be for a lot of us. Missing loved ones we’ve lost, finding it hard to be joyful when your world feels heavy, maybe even facing tragic loss while the world around you is celebrating," Costner wrote on Facebook. "If you’re feeling closer to the darkness than the light this year, this song is our prayer for you. Every step is a test of faith. May you always find your way."

Costner and Baumgartner were together for almost 19 years, with her filing for divorce in May 2023. The pair finalized their divorce the following year, after a long court battle involving their assets and the future of their children. The pair agreed to share custody of their kids and for Costner to provide Baumgartner with $63,000 a month in child support.
Over the past few months, Costner has been dating. Over the summer, he was linked to the director and author Kelly Noonan Gores, with the two connecting over mutual friends. "They have been getting to know each other and seeing each other casually when they can," said a source to US Weekly.
