Ever Anderson just hit a major milestone, and she’s doing it in full movie-star fashion. The daughter of actress Milla Jovovich and filmmaker Paul W. S. Anderson turned 18 on November 4.
Her mom celebrated with a heartfelt Instagram post calling her “smart, talented, hilarious, incredibly creative, and beautiful” and giving a shout-out to Anderson's schoolwork, her acting grind, and her growth both physically and mentally.
"Never in my wildest dreams could I imagine you would be the unstoppable force of nature you are today! You work hard on your school, preparing for your A levels in London next year, you read voraciously and are such a talented young writer," she gushed.
"Your acting skills have been there from the beginning, but you’ve honed them so much over the years through training and endless auditioning since such an early age. You constantly work on yourself to grow and improve your skills in life, your health both physical and mental and you’re the most amazing big sister and member of our family unit!" Her mom continued.
Following in her parents' footsteps, she is already making waves in Hollywood, recently landing a starring role alongside Al Pacino and Kiefer Sutherland in Father Joe, an upcoming action thriller written by Luc Besson and set in 1990s Manhattan. Sutherland will star as Father Joe while Pacino will play a powerful mob boss.
She will star as a “young woman caught between danger and redemption under Joe’s guidance," marking a major step into leading-lady territory. "So incredibly honored to be working with the legendary Al Pacino," she wrote excitedly on Instagram, announcing the news.
She has another project, a TV series called The Artist, where she plays Evelyn Nesbit. It begins streaming on The Network on November 26.
Her Hollywood journey
Anderson has two younger sisters, Dashiel and Osian, making her the big sister in a family of five. She is of Ukrainian/Serbian descent through her mother and English descent through her father.
As a young Hollywood celebrity kid, she played a young version of her mom in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016) and of Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha in Black Widow. Her breakout role as a lead came as Wendy Darling in Disney’s Peter Pan & Wendy.
She revealed that when she found out she got the Wendy role, she was at a friend’s house and totally shocked. “I was so shocked because it was such a huge role and there were so many people that went out for it, so I thought, absolutely no way," she told Elle.
Anderson has reflected on growing up around filmmaking and how watching her mom on set fueled her drive to act. “I got an incredible film education from a young age … But I found out that playing with dolls and role-playing with my friends was actually a job while watching my mom on set," she told W Magazine. " She was doing this job that I also wanted to do—she was doing the dream, in my eyes.”
Outside of acting, she's also a model, making her debut with Dior at Paris Fashion Week this year. Anderson has also been a face for Miu Miu and has modeled for Chloé, Marc Jacobs, CELINE, and more.
