Rob Kardashian has made a quiet return to TV and is making headlines again with his ex-girlfriend and baby mama, Blac Chyna. Amid his newfound public presence, this feels like a renaissance for the 38-year-old.
After nearly nine years off-camera, Rob popped up in the Season 7 premiere of The Kardashians on October 23. While fans are quipping on X, formerly known as Twitter, that his return is a "recession indicator," he seems happier and more at ease in the skin he's in.
As for why that could be, a source told PEOPLE, he is at “a point in his life [where] he just doesn’t care as much what anyone thinks.” Which is huge considering he’s “really struggled with body issues and self-confidence for years.” Now, “negative comments don’t bother him anymore,” and he’s “in a better place and way more comfortable with who he is.”
His appearances this season are described as “light and unscripted,” with “no pressure on him. And he enjoys it.” The source even says he “seems open to appearing on the show more often."
A reconciliation with Blac Chyna
All of this comes right as things with Chyna - now going by her birth name, Angela White are rekindling their love. On October 15, White surprised fans when she tagged him in an Instagram post saying, "This love is forever ♾️ @robkardashianofficial." While Rob was not in any of the photos, the message was clear.
Then, at the Los Angeles Women’s Expo on Oct. 18, she was asked who she’d rather have more kids with: Rob or Tyga. She didn’t think twice. “Absolutely,” she said about Rob in a video published to TMZ.
She followed it up by confirming their relationship is in a healing chapter. “Robert and… we’re healing, and we’re communicating, and we’re just going with the flow,” she said, adding that “if God wants it to be, then it will be something.” She went on to praise him, saying, “Robert is so funny. He’s actually, like, hilarious.”
So it looks like we are seeing not just a TV comeback, but an emotional one. As for his relationship with White, it's unclear how his famous family feels about it.
They were all infamously in a legal battle with the model. Rob and Blac Chyna settled in June 2022, just before a scheduled trial over Chyna’s revenge porn lawsuit. The terms of the settlement were not publicly disclosed, per the Los Angeles Times.
And in May 2022, a jury ruled in favor of the Kardashian family in a separate defamation lawsuit filed by Chyna. The jury found that the Kardashians had not defamed Chyna or interfered with her contract, leading to the cancellation of her reality show, Rob & Chyna. As a result, Chyna was awarded no damages, per EW.
But a lot has changed since then, a main one being that White is sober now. So the lovebirds might have a second shot at love.
