Is Taylor Swift the next star to go to space after Katy Perry?

The singer also addressed another rumor involving Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift might be reaching new heights with her music, but space is one place she has no desire to go. The idea of orbiting Earth doesn’t appeal to her at all, and she made that perfectly clear during a recent interview.

While appearing on BBC Radio 2’s 'The Scott Mills Show' on Monday to promote her new album 'The Life of a Showgirl,' Swift was asked if she would ever consider following in the footsteps of Katy Perry and other celebrities who have flown on Blue Origin’s suborbital missions.

“Never!” Swift replied without hesitation. “Why would I do that? There’s no reason to do that. I don’t want to do that, ever. I never … oh my God, no!”

She didn’t hold back when explaining her reasons. “It’s cold, it’s scary, I don’t know if I can come back down,” she said. “If I go, no one will believe I went. It doesn’t matter if you go, because everyone thinks you didn’t go, or they have a weird take on it. I have no fascination.”

Taylor Swift addressed another rumor that’s been circulating, whether she plans to stop making music once she marries fiancé Travis Kelce.

Though the question was meant in fun, Swift’s reaction was genuine. “But thank you for asking! I don’t know why I just completely freaked out, it was like I thought you were going to make me go.”

Her response comes just months after Katy Perry, Gayle King, and Lauren Sánchez made headlines for launching into space with an all-female crew on a brief Blue Origin flight. Perry called the experience life-changing and said it made her feel deeply “connected to love.” She described the trip as being just behind motherhood in significance.

But not everyone was impressed. The spaceflight was criticized for its environmental impact and timing, and was described by online users as tone-deaf and dramatic.

Swift is celebrating massive success. Her new album 'The Life of a Showgirl' has already smashed streaming records. According to Spotify, it became the most-streamed album in a single day this year, hitting the mark in under 11 hours.

The singer also addressed another rumor that’s been circulating, whether she plans to stop making music once she marries fiancé Travis Kelce. Her response was direct.

“That’s a shockingly offensive thing to say,” she said. “It’s not why people get married, so they can quit their job. It’s like, I love the person that I am with because he loves what I do, and he loves how much I am fulfilled by making art and making music.”

She explained how their careers, though different on the surface, share a surprising number of similarities. “We both as a living, as a job, as a passion, perform for three and a half hours in NFL stadiums,” Swift said. “For him, it’s practice; for me, it’s rehearsal. For him, it’s a game; for me, it’s a show. We just call them different things. We both have teams. It’s a very similar thing.”
