President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have touched down in the United Kingdom! The couple landed at London Stansted Airport on Tuesday after 9 p.m. local time. The first lady — dressed in the same Burberry trench coat and Christian Dior boots she left the White House wearing — disembarked Air Force Once, holding hands with her husband. The president's younger daughter Tiffany Trump and her husband Michael Boulos also made the trip across the pond.

After landing at the airport, the president and first lady traveled on board Marine One to Winfield House in central London, he spoke about King Charles, saying: "We're going to see him tomorrow and he's been a friend of mine for a long time — and everybody respects him and they love him." President Trump also remarked that there are a lot of things in the UK that "warm my heart." He said, "It's a very special place. It's a great place."

The president and first lady will be leaving London for Windsor in the morning. On Wednesday, President Trump and Melania will be greeted by the Prince and Princess of Wales on the grounds of Windsor Castle, before being formally welcomed by King Charles. HOLA! USA understands that Queen Camilla, who missed the Duchess of Kent's funeral on Tuesday, hopes to have recovered from her acute sinusitis to attend all elements of the state visit. Her Majesty and the first lady are scheduled to tour Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House and the Royal Library at Windsor Castle on Thursday.

The 45th and 47th President of the United States accepted the invitation for the unprecedented state visit back in February. The invite from King Charles was delivered by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer during a visit to the White House. "This is really special. This has never happened before. This is unprecedented," the prime minister said at the time.

Months later, in July, the prime minister emphasized, "This is an unprecedented and very special state visit. This has never been done before and there'll be many elements of it that have never been seen before. So this is going to be a historic occasion and we're all very much looking forward to it and I was very, very pleased to be able to put forward the invitation when we were at the White House earlier this year. So this is not just a state visit. They're always incredible occasions. This is an unprecedented second state visit, so you can imagine just how special that's gonna be."

During President Trump's first term in 2019, he and Melania undertook their first state visit to the UK at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth. The American president and first lady are set to honor the late monarch on Thursday at St George’s Chapel.

Discussing the state visit on the flight over to the UK on Tuesday, the president told reporters, "It's gonna be a beautiful event. Everyone's looking forward to it."
