It’s been over six months since Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck finalized their divorce, officially closing the chapter on a two-year marriage that had everyone rooting for second chances. And while their love story didn’t end in a forever fairytale, and they still haven't been able to sell their mansion, everything between them seems to be surprisingly warm.
After JLo was recently spotted shopping with Emme and Ben’s son, Samuel, new details have surfaced about how the exes are navigating life post-split - and how their kids are keeping close.
According to a source who spoke with PEOPLE, “Ben and Jennifer are doing well. Even though they’re no longer together, they remain on good terms.”
The friendly vibe isn’t shocking, considering the pair even made time to exchange Christmas gifts last December while still in the middle of divorce proceedings.
As for the kids, that bond hasn’t gone anywhere. “The kids are still really close,” the insider shared. “They have the same friend groups, they see each other, they talk all the time. Ben and JLo make sure the kids are comfortable. What matters most to them is raising their children in a supportive environment, so they plan to keep working together.”
Ben shares Violet (19), Fin (16), and Samuel (13) with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, while JLo is mom to 17-year-old twins Emme and Max, from her marriage to Marc Anthony. Even after the split, the kids have been spotted hanging out, especially Emme and Fin, who share a tight friendship.
Another source highlighted how JLo has always treated Ben’s kids with love: “She’s a wonderful mom and has always shown his children the same care as her own.”
Ben himself echoed those feelings earlier this year at the premiere of The Accountant 2, where he brought both his children and JLo’s along. “It’s a fantastic night. The kids are here, Jen’s kids, too. I’m really excited,” he said.
He didn’t hold back when asked about JLo, either: “For the record, Jennifer Lopez is spectacular, great to my kids, great ongoing relationship with them,” he explained. “I love her kids. They’re wonderful. She’s an enormously important, tremendous person of a lot of integrity who I adore and am grateful to.”
So while Bennifer 2.0 may not have lasted, what did survive is something genuine, a blended family bond, and that means a lot in a place like Hollywood.
