Tom Holland is turning heads, and not just because of a new Spider-Man suit, but this time for a new hairstyle. The 28-year-old Marvel star has once again pushed the boundaries of his on-screen transformations, now in a LEGO short film.
Released on YouTube earlier this week, the two-minute video titled 'Never Stop Playing' sees Holland swapping his signature brunette style for a carousel of identities, including one that’s gone viral on social media.
He opens the film as a sci-fi warrior, rallying troops with the dramatic line,“To survive, we must stop playing.” But the intensity doesn’t last long. As the camera cuts, Holland morphs into a series of characters, from a grumpy executive and a CGI child to a white-haired professor and even an eccentric artist with a goatee and a floral LEGO jacket.
Dressed in a red-and-blue soccer jersey and sporting tight blonde curls parted down the middle, Holland steps into the role of a confident footballer, fielding questions from the press. He tells reporters he would “never” stop playing with LEGO.
“Why does he lowkey look so good?” one fan posted on X. Another chimed in, “Ngl, he looks like the handsome quarterback in teen fiction and high school movies.” One user joked, “Blonde Tom Holland? Who even approved this betrayal of Spider-Man’s legacy?!”
But not everyone was sold. Some responses were less enthusiastic, with one post reading, “Not looking so good on him am I right.” Another user took it further, “I just can't help but feel though that this hairstyle looks a little bit.... Douchy.”
Regardless of opinion, the transformation marks yet another bold choice for Holland, who has long embraced physical changes for his roles. Just last month, he debuted a redesigned Spider-Man suit for the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, featuring a noticeably larger emblem and fresh stylistic tweaks.
Fans eager for more of Holland’s evolving looks won’t have to wait long. 'Brand New Day,' which also stars his real-life fiancée Zendaya, is set for a July 31, 2026 release.
But for now, it’s his LEGO-inspired alter egos, especially the blonde footballer, that have captured the imagination of fans and sparked debates across social media platforms.
