Sasha Obama is enjoying the last days of summer. On Friday, the 24-year-old kicked off Labor Day weekend in Los Angeles with a friend. She was spotted in a parking garage wearing a cute summer outfit that showed off the hard work she's been putting in the gym.
The USC graduate and daughter of Former U.S. President Barack Obama, wore a white crop top and a pink tie-dyed wrap skirt with flip-flops. It's unclear where they were headed, but their outfits were giving beach or pool day vibes. With summer coming to an end and 2026 just around the corner, Sasha is making the most of her time.
Her male companion was also dressed for summer, wearing board shorts, a white printed t-shirt, and a durag. The mystery man just looks like a friend. Sasha is reportedly dating writer and director Clifton Powell Jr.
Sasha enjoys summer as a 24-year-old
Sasha kicked off summer 2025 with a new age. She turned 24 on June 10th and got the sweetest shout out from her mom Michelle Obama who shared a gorgeous photo of the family posing together on what looks like a vacation, "Happy birthday to my sweet girl, Sasha! Can’t believe how quickly time has flown. I’m so proud of the woman you’ve become. Love you always," she wrote.
Aside from paparazzi pics or updates from their parents, Sasha and her sister Malia live relatively private lives. Now all grown up, Michelle recently shared some insight into how Sasha was as a teenager. In an August episode of her The Light Podcast (IMO), she explained that Barack often felt she was the more "difficult" one. But Michelle explained that the Obama sisters were different in that Malia was a pleaser and Sasha was a non-pleaser.
Michelle said before heading out with friends, Malia would pop into the Treaty Room to give her dad “15 minutes.” She’d casually ask, “Tell me about Syria,” listen for a bit, then say, “Okay, well, I’m gone.” Barack, meanwhile, would walk out beaming, telling Michelle, “I just had an amazing conversation with Malia.”
As for Sasha, she wasn't seeking approval. The former first lady went on to compare her to a cat. “She’s [Sasha] like, ‘Don’t touch me. Don’t pet me. I’m not pleasing you. You come to me.’ And Barack’s like ‘She’s difficult.’ And I’m like, ‘No, the first one was a pleaser,'" she explained. According to Michelle, that still hasn't changed. Temperamentally, they’re still like that," she said.
