Will Smith is on tour. The rapper and singer is currently touring for his record "Based on a True Story." He's toured various locations, with his most recent performance taking place in Scarborough, in the UK. He recently shared a video that some viewers have accused of having an inflated audience, boosted by AI.
The video was shared on his YouTube channel and is called "My favorite part of tour is seeing you all up close. Thank you for seeing me too," Smith captioned the post.
The video features multiple fan exchanges, with many concertgoers looking thrilled to witness Smith and his music.
The clip shows some concertgoers holding up a sign that references the Smith song "You Can Make It." "You Can Make It helped me survive cancer. Thx Will," reads the sign, which is being held up by an emotional-looking man and woman.
The image appears to be AI-generated, with the bodies of the fans feeling off. More footage shows people with contorted and blurred faces, or having that distinct and colorful hue that AI-generated images still have.
Viewers of the video were quick to criticize Smith and the video. “Videographers exist, why abandon quality work for this degenerative slop?”
"Is that AI crowds?" reads one of the comments.
"Someone in the crowd was holding an arm that moved," wrote a second person.
"Will, come on bro. You're rich, you don't need to chase fame anymore," wrote someone else.
More details about Smith's tour
Smith recently kicked off the UK leg of his tour, having his first show at North Yorkshire, selling out a crowd of 6,000 people.
Many fans who bought tickets for the show were shocked at the fact that Smith had jumped back to making music, with this record being the first one he's released in 20 years.
"If Will Smith comes to your town you go and see him," said a fan to the BBC. "I think it's bonkers. Until I see him I don't think I'll believe he's here."
