Maluma brought his Mexico City concert to a stop to address a mother in the crowd. The awkward exchange was shared online by onlookers, who captured Maluma addressing one of his concert-goers and scolding her for bringing in a young baby to a location with such loud sounds.
“With all due respect… how old are they?” asked Maluma, pausing the concert to speak with her. “A year old? Less? A year. Do you think it’s a good idea to bring a one-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are this fucking high? Where is the sound this loud? That baby doesn’t even know what it’s doing here," he said.
"Next time, protect their ears or something. For real. It’s heavy. It’s your responsibility."
Maluma grew impassioned, arguing for the baby and saying that, as a father, he would never bring a baby to a show. "You’re waving them around like they’re a toy. That baby doesn’t want to be there, for real. I’m telling you with all love and respect, now that I’m a father… would never bring them to a concert. For the next time, be a bit more aware.”
The crowd seemed to support Maluma, cheering him on. Viewers of the video shared their thoughts in the comments, with some praising him for speaking up. "Glad somebody clocking this cause it’s never cute to bring no baby to a concert idc," wrote someone.
Others thought that Maluma calling out a woman in the crowd was unnecessary. "she didnt deserve that level of embarrassment," reads their comment. You can check out the full exchange below.
