Despite speculation surrounding her ex-husband Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner is in a strong and stable relationship with someone else. The actress and her longtime boyfriend, businessman John Miller, are reportedly doing better than ever, having quietly hit their stride as a couple after years of dating on and off.
“They’ve hit a stride as a couple and those who know them say this is the most solid and connected they’ve ever been,” a source told People. Garner and Miller, CEO of CaliGroup (the tech company behind CaliBurger), have maintained a relatively private romance since they began dating in 2018.
Their renewed strength as a couple follows reported struggles earlier this year. In March, reports surfaced that Miller had issued Garner an “ultimatum” after photos of her and Affleck, her ex-husband and father of her three children, hugging and spending time together with their kids went viral.
“John knows there’s nothing going on between Jen and Ben, but he doesn’t think those photos are a good look and feels it’s disrespectful to their relationship,” a source told Page Six at the time. “He doesn’t want to see anything like that again or he has no choice but to walk away.”
Whatever tension existed, it seems to have been short-lived. Just a month later, Us Weekly reported that Miller was “basically living with Jennifer part-time.” That development now appears to reflect a deeper commitment between the pair.
Miller’s place in Garner’s family life is an increasingly important one. According to People's source, “John has also embraced Jen’s family life. He’s been patient, supportive and deeply respectful of her dynamic with Ben and the kids.”
Garner and Affleck were spotted together at a Boston Red Sox game on July 11, accompanied by two of their three children, Fin, 16, and Samuel, 13. Their eldest, Violet, 19, was not in attendance. At one point, Affleck nudged Garner, causing her to smile for the camera, hinting at their friendship.
The former couple, who divorced in 2018 after 10 years of marriage, have consistently prioritized their co-parenting relationship. Garner recently posted a Father’s Day tribute on Instagram, featuring Affleck lying on the couch with one of their newborns. The caption read, “Happy Father’s Day to 3 people’s favorite landing spot.”
Affleck has publicly shown their mutual respect, telling GQ in March, “I’m really lucky that I have a really good co-parent and partner in Jennifer Garner… the kids’ mom, who’s wonderful and great and we work together well.”
Meanwhile, Miller has two children with his ex, Caroline Campbell, and has been seen spending time with her. It seems Garner and Miller understand that staying connected with their exes is part of parenting.
