The moment took place while the pair were getting off their plane in London. Macron was photographed walking down the plane's stairs, offering his support to his wife as he held out his hand.

Brigitte held on to the handrail, avoiding holding on to Macron's arm for several seconds. After she got off of the plane, she addressed Macron, with the pair exchanging a few quick words.

The pair was welcomed by some of the British royals, including Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, who welcomed the French President and First Lady.

Macron and his wife went viral earlier this year after cameras recorded an awkward moment that the pair later had to address. In May, the pair were recorded as they were landing in Vietnam.

Macron was spotted standing in front of the airplane's open door, with Brigitte's hand reaching out and appearing to shove his face. Macron addressed the conversation surrounding the viral moment, claiming that he and his wife were just having a good time and playing with each other, and that the exchange was not worth all of this discussion and speculation.

“There’s a video showing me joking and teasing my wife and somehow that becomes a sort of geo-planetary catastrophe, with people even coming up with theories to explain it," he said in a statement. "We are horsing around and, really, joking with my wife."

The President's office also addressed the video, claiming that the two were just "decompressing" before engaging in their work. "It’s a moment of complicity. It was all that was needed to give ammunition to the conspiracy theorists," said the office.
