Mariah Carey brought her signature glamour to the streets of London this past Sunday, wearing a daring plunging black shorts romper that showed off her iconic curves. The 56-year-old superstar was spotted leaving her hotel ahead of her highly anticipated performance at the Capital Summertime Ball with Barclaycard at Wembley Stadium.
The appearance marks Carey’s first live show in the UK in six years, and fans were thrilled to catch a glimpse of the diva’s showstopping pre-show look.
Mariah combined her plunging bodysuit with a pair of knee-high boots and a pair of oversized sunglasses. As she made her way to a car waiting nearby, the Fantasy singer was seen waving to her fans and stopped to sign autographs.
Mariah, known for hits such as Hero and her festive classic All I Want for Christmas Is You, performed at the Wembley concert alongside artists such as Benson Boone, Lola Young and Jessie J.
The star’s appearance at the Summertime Ball comes after she confirmed that she will be returning to Australia later this year to headline Fridayz Live in what will be he first shows in the country for more than a decade.
Mariah will perform in Sydney and Melbourne alongside rappers Wiz Khalifa and Pitbull. She said, “I missed you terribly, certainly the fans and the people, the beautiful land and the animals, you know, it’s Australia, c’mon!”
The pop star is also planning to bring her Celebration of Mimi tour, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of her album The Emancipation of Mimi to audiences around the world, with Australian dates set to be scheduled soon.
Mariah will forever be associated with Christmas thanks to her 1994 hit, and she confessed last year that she is actually easy to buy presents for.
She told BBC Radio 2: “I think so because it’s really the thought that counts. I mean, I know that sounds cliché, but it’s true. If somebody takes time out of their day, and goes and gets you something, that’s a big deal.”
The singer famously releases a video each year to mark that she is ready to get into the Christmas spirit and explained that the clips are a long time in the making.
She said: “I mean, I start thinking about the next year’s one after the current year’s comes out. I mean I just love it, I really do, it’s so much fun. Honestly, my whole life I’ve just loved Christmas so much. It’s amazing.”
