Gwyneth Paltrow cooks topless: Apple and Jennifer Garner compete for best comment

Gwyneth had some positive and negative feedback

Gwyneth Paltrow just gave the people something they didn’t know they needed: topless cooking content. Over the weekend, she posted a reel from Umbria, Italy, making what she called a “Tuscan-inspired #boyfriendbreakfast” completely topless. She kept it IG-friendly and showed herself only from the back, and was eventually wearing a shirt, but it still got a lot of attention.

The breakfast itself was a white bean and sausage shakshuka full of protein, with sausage from the local butcher, Macelleria Giulietti, white beans, spinach, cherry tomatoes, and eggs. In the comments was her 21-year-old daughter, Apple Martin, who came in hot and maybe a little embarrassed, writing, “Did I steal your shirt by accident or…?” It was the kind of comment a mom would normally leave on her daughter’s thirst trap, which made it hilarious.

Also in the comments was the one and only Jennifer Garner, who was ready to kick Paltrow's boyfriend Brad Falchuk to the curb. "Can I be your boyfriend?" the 13 Going on 30 star wrote, which was the top-liked comment with nearly 5k double taps. "You already are in my heart," Paltrow responded.

It wasn't all love in the comments, though. Along with some ageism and misogynistic remarks about her being topless were some angry Italians ready to defend their cuisine. “This isn’t Italian cooking!! It’s an American mess!! Poor dried-out beans—look raw too! In Tuscany, we eat these ingredients separately to give each one its proper value… never all together!!! Get outta here, get outta here!!” wrote one passionate user. "We do not eat this 'thing' in Tuscany," added another.

Brad Falchuk and Gwyneth Paltrow have been Paleo for the last few years

Paltrow has made headlines in the past for her strict eating habits that at one point included only bone broth for lunch, so it's interesting to see her enjoying such a hearty breakfast - assuming she ate some of it and it wasn’t just for her boyfriend Falchuk.

The couple has been Paleo for the last few years, but she recently admitted she was "a little sick of it" and started eating sourdough bread, cheese, and a little pasta. The Paleo diet focuses on eating whole, unprocessed foods like meat, fish, vegetables, fruits, and nuts, while avoiding grains, dairy, and refined sugar. It usually cuts out legumes, which she included in her boyfriend's breakfast, so they are widening their horizons.

On an April episode of The Goop Podcast, she opened up about her eating habits, explaining that while it was for anti-inflammatory reasons, she did get "obsessed." “I went into hardcore macrobiotics for a certain time. That was an interesting chapter where I got kind of obsessed with eating very, very healthily," she explained.

At the time, she was helping her father, Bruce Paltrow, during his battle with cancer before he passed away in 2002. "I think that was—I was really trying to heal my dad by proxy, and he just didn't really want anything to do with it," she shared.
