The celebrations aren’t over for J Balvin. The Colombian pop star officially turned the big 4-0 back on May 7, but he waited until this past weekend to celebrate in true milestone style. Balvin organized a full-on casino-themed party in Tuscany, Italy. As expected, the guest list was packed with celebrities and fellow artists from the Latin music scene, along with a few of his Colombian friends, including Sofía Vergara.
On Instagram, the Mi Gente singer dropped a glimpse of the over-the-top festivities, posing with longtime pals like Daddy Yankee and Zion. Still, Sofía’s presence was impossible to miss. She never sat down, spending the entire night dancing and singing alongside the crowd, instantly becoming the life of the party.
Sofía has also shared proof of her European trip. In addition to spending time partying with Balvin, she’s posted photos of herself with friends and her son, Manolo, in the French Riviera, Monaco, and Italy, including a photo in France with The White Lotus star Patrick Schwarzenegger and his fiancée, Abby Champion.
A cozy family celebration before the big bash
On his actual birthday, J Balvin was pampered by his partner, Valentina Ferrer, and their son, Rio. The model arranged a special surprise for the star, filling their home with metallic balloons and one with a giant “40”, and she even set up a ball pit, which he enjoyed with his son.
Though the singer kept his posts low-key, fans melted over two childhood throwbacks in his Stories. In one, a six-year-old Balvin rocks a red-and-white striped tee under denim overalls, puckering a kiss toward the camera. On the other, he has a serious face, but irresistibly, that’s still endearing decades later. These photos carry deep meaning for him since, as he’s often said, his youth had a lot of financial hardships.
