Despite the media frenzy surrounding the start of his relationship with Ángela Aguilar, Christian Nodal was welcomed warmly by her family, beginning with Pepe Aguilar. The young Mexican singer has gained the affection of this famous dynasty, as evidenced by the celebrations they have shared together. It appears that he has won the love of the family's Aguilar side and his wife's maternal relatives, particularly her grandmother.
On May 21, Ángela took to her Instagram account to share some glimpses into the intimate moments of her family life. The Qué Agonía singer posted a short video in her Stories showing how much fun she was having with her grandmother, Eva Mendoza, mother of Aneliz Álvarez.
"Eva, why did you choose a cross?" Ángela can be heard asking her grandmother playfully as she showed off a cross tattoo design—apparently temporary—on her forearm. "Oh, I love you so much…" the lady responded, making everyone around laugh. She added, "It shows, and here you are pinching her…"
It appears Ángela was the one who came up with the idea for Mrs. Eva to get a tattoo, although the grandmother didn't seem entirely convinced. "So elegant, so distinguished," Ángela added jokingly while holding her grandmother's arm to show off the tattoo; the lady couldn't resist laughing again. At the end of the clip, a very familiar voice could be heard: Nodal's.
"It looks great on her," said the Sonoran artist, who is well-known for his love of body art and crosses.
The young singer later shared another video in which her grandmother is seen sitting at the table across from Nodal. The two are having a warm conversation, during which the lady confesses her affection for him. "Dear, I love you… despite the tattoos," Doña Eva said, gritting her teeth at the end, causing laughter from her granddaughter and her husband.
Christian Nodal Acknowledges His Father-in-Law's Affection
Mrs. Eva Mendoza isn't the only one who has embraced Nodal affectionately; her son-in-law, Pepe Aguilar, has done the same. In August of last year, the young singer spoke about his relationship with his father-in-law, which at first was only on a personal level. "There was always a lot of musical and artistic respect," said the Botella tras Botella singer on the YouTube channel Molusco TV. "I think everyone sees him as a monster—why, I don't know. With me, he's been super kind. He's been very empathetic," he added.
Nodal also spoke about how Pepe welcomed him into the family after his relationship with Ángela began. "As a dad, you always want the best for your daughters, and well, I'm basically with his treasure. I'm with one of the most beautiful people he has in his life, one of his greatest loves. He has received me with a lot of love, a lot of respect," said the singer.
