Phoebe Gates is shedding an inside look at some of her family dynamics. In a recent podcast appearance, the youngest daughter of Bill and Melinda Gates discussed her parents and her family, from the pressures of growing up as their daughter to their behavior when it comes to her dating life.
Phoebe was one of the guests at a recent episode of the podcast "Call Her Daddy," with her opening about the privilege she's experienced as the daughter of one of the richest men in the world.
Podcast host Alex Cooper asked her how guys reacted when meeting Phoebe's dad, with her revealing that it's an overall funny experience. "I think terrifying for the guy, for me hilarious," said Phoebe.
My dad's like pretty socially awkward. He has Asperger's," revealed Phoebe, which is something that Bill Gates hasn't discussed publicly all that often.
"To me, it's so funny, but for guys, I think they get really wigged out," Phoene continued. "Honestly, now it's become easier for me because it's just funny when you introduce a guy to your dad and depending on how he reacts... that's how you know if he's gonna be a good guy or not."
Phoebe Gates' experience as the daughter of Bill Gates
This year, Phoebe Gates launched her podcast alongside her friend Sophia Kianni, granting them plenty of opportunities to open up about their lives, their businesses, and more.
The show is called "The Burnouts," featuring many unfiltered moments from Phoebe. In a previous episode, she opened up about her privilege and how that caused some insecurity throughout her first years in college.
"I came in, I was like, ''I'm so privileged, I'm a nepo baby,' like I had so much insecurity around that. I feel it's so hard when you're a freshman in college because you have no experience. You have nothing," she said.
Nowadays, Phoebe is focused on different businesses, including her podcast and Phia, her sustainable fashion-tech startup.
