Tom Cruise is full of praise for Ana de Armas both on and off the screen.
While promoting Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, the 62-year-old Hollywood icon couldn’t stop gushing about Ballerina, de Armas’ upcoming action-packed spin-off in the John Wick franchise.
“I’ve seen it — it’s incredible,” Cruise told reporters on Thursday, according to a clip shared on Instagram. “It hits the mark perfectly. Big action, great tone — you’re going to be blown away.”
The film, which stars de Armas alongside Keanu Reeves, is set to hit theaters in early June. Cruise’s enthusiastic endorsement comes amid growing speculation about a budding romance between the two stars. De Armas, 37, opened up about their recent collaborations and their close rapport during an appearance on Good Morning America the same day.
“It’s been a lot of fun,” she said, revealing that they’re not just working on one, but “a few projects” together. She named Doug Liman and Christopher McQuarrie — longtime Cruise collaborators — as part of the creative team. “I’m really excited,” she added.
According to an Us Weekly insider, Cruise has quickly developed strong feelings for the Blonde actress.
“He’s completely smitten,” the source claimed. “They’ve been on a few quiet dates, just keeping things low-key for now. He’s definitely been pursuing her.”
However, the source added that de Armas is approaching the connection with caution.
“She’s not in a rush and wants to take things slowly. The relationship is still new and very private. They’re trying to stay under the radar to avoid media pressure.”
Dating rumors first surfaced in February when the pair were seen enjoying what looked like a cozy Valentine’s Day outing in London. Since then, they’ve been spotted together on several occasions — most recently at David Beckham’s star-studded 50th birthday bash earlier this month.
While a source told Page Six that the duo appeared to have “a great time” at the event, they stopped short of confirming a full-blown romance, saying, “It’s hard to say if they’re officially a couple, but they definitely seemed to be enjoying each other’s company.”
