Shakira had a full circle moment during her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour stop in Medellín. On stage, she brought out Maluma—her longtime friend and collaborator—for a surprise performance, and the crowd went wild.
Back in 2016, the two dropped their mega-hit “Chantaje,” which skyrocketed to the top of the charts and racked up over 3 billion streams. They even released a salsa version because the original was that big. So of course, performing it together again—especially in Maluma’s hometown—was a huge deal for both of them.
Shakira shared behind-the-scenes photos on social media and thanked Maluma for joining her, calling the track a milestone in Latin music. “Thank you @maluma for singing this song with me again—the one that marked a moment in music history with 3 billion streams!! I’d sing it with you a thousand times more. Love you!” she wrote.
Maluma returned the love in the comments, writing, “Sos de otro mundo,” which translates to, “You’re out of this world.” He also posted his own tribute, saying, “Medallo is your home @shakira. Thank you for the invite,” along with photos of him onstage and soaking up the show in the crowd.

For night two in Medellín, Shakira brought out another legend—Carlos Vives—for a special performance of their hit “La Bicicleta.” "Carlos Vives came to brighten my night even more with La Bicicleta !!! Carlos, you are a living legend!!! I love you my brother!!" she posted, clearly emotional.

Shakira's tour is sold out, cementing her as one of the most influential singers of all time. Live Nation revealed that they sold a record-breaking 950,000 tickets across 18 stadiums in Latin America—just two hours after they went on sale in October 2024.
It’s the biggest ticket sales moment ever for a female artist in the region. As of March 17, 2025, more than two million tickets have already been sold, with over 30 shows still to come. Billboard reported that the first six shows alone brought in $32.9 million from over 282,000 tickets—and they’re projecting the tour could hit over $200 million in total gross.
