Kelly Clarkson couldn't help but get emotional while taking a trip down memory lane during her talk show return.

The daytime talk show host celebrated the 1000th episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show on Thursday, March 20,  taking a look back at some of the special moments from over the years. Clarkson--whose show premiered in 2019--ended the heartfelt episode with a special montage of her children, son Remington "Remy" Alexander, 8, and daughter River Rose, 10, appearances on the show over the years, which led to an emotional moment for the proud mother.

"That was really sweet," she said as the video came to an end. "Oh, that was really sweet. And, look I kept it together you guys."

She continued by sending a message to her little ones, saying: "River and Remy, I love you so much. I'm so proud of you both...They're just fearless and very bold. They're more like me as an adult, not what I was like as a child, so they talk a lot too. You are what I'm liking today, my little ones, and every day I love them so much."

The former American Idol shares her two children with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, who went through quite the tumultuous divorce. In 2021, Clarkson opened up about co-parenting, admitting, "It's tough ... I know with me and Brandon, it's just a difficult thing because we're in different places, and it's like, we both agree on the main things, but it's a hard thing when you're not together all the time, for me personally."

Still, the star did stress that the former couple always "focuses on" their kids, adding, "As long as you make sure it's about the children and their best interests, then we're both on board."

During her cover story interview with Variety in 2022, Clarkson opened up about the valuable lesson she learned about being vulnerable with her kids while in therapy.

"I think the most important thing I've learned in therapy, especially through this divorce, is 'Don't hide everything from your kids.' Obviously, don't talk about stuff that you shouldn't talk about, but it's okay if they see you cry, or it's okay if they see you've had a bad day,'" she told the outlet."You start to feel that kind of shame, like, 'I've got to put my best foot forward as a mom because I don't want them to be affected. But then you allow your kids to express empathy, and they learn how to say, 'Oh, man, I'm sorry you had a hard day.'"
