The Kennedy and Schwarzenegger families might seem worlds apart, with one being associated with politics while the other is known for its impact on the entertainment industry. However, these two important families are linked by marriage, creating fascination among the American public. But how are the families related?

The key to this connection lies in Maria Shriver, a prominent member of the Kennedy family, who was married to Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Austrian-born actor and former governor of California.

Maria is the daughter of Sargent Shriver and Eunice Kennedy Shriver. Eunice was the sister of John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States, and Robert F. Kennedy, the U.S. Senator and civil rights champion, making Maria Shriver a niece of these political figures.

The pair have successfully co-parent their children and have been present in their lives following their divorce and an infidelity scandal in 2011, when it was revealed that the actor was also father to Joseph Baena, from his brief relationship with Mildred Baena.

Continuing the family legacy:

Their children have without a doubt carried their family's legacy, especially in the entertainment world. Most recently, Patrick Schwarzenegger made headlines for his latest role in 'White Lotus,' while Katherine Schwarzenegger is known for being an author and advocate for women’s health.
