Cameron Diaz has always embraced her Latin heritage. The Hollywood star recently came back to the spotlight with new projects and has shared a glimpse of her new life chapter during recent interviews.

Talking to 'Pero Like' in a recent interview, Cameron reminisced on a special memory with her abuelo. The actress previously highlighted her heritage, speaking about her father's side of the family. Her father, Emilio Díaz, is of Cuban descent, and she has shared in the past that her family roots are an important part of her identity.

Cameron has previously mentioned how her Latin heritage has influenced her upbringing and her connection to her family. The actress detailed a moment with her grandfather, explaining that she now understands how much he enjoyed Cuban coffee (or cafecito) in the morning.

"I remember when he used to sit in front of the kitchen window with his robe around him and white tank top and he would [take a sip of the coffee]," she said, explaining that as a young girl, she would think; "It seems like he is really enjoying that coffee, and now I'm like 'ugh it's so good!"

"I’m very proud of my Cuban heritage. My father is Cuban, and my mom is of English and German descent, but growing up, we definitely celebrated the Cuban side of the family," the actress said to People in 2013, reflecting on the pride she feels for her Latin roots and how they’ve shaped her family traditions and values.

Her Cuban heritage also plays a part in how the star lives her life and celebrates, highlighting the importance of hosting, spending quality time with her loved ones, and even cooking."The influence of my Cuban background is very important to me, especially the emphasis on family, food, and celebration," she said to The Daily Beast in 2013.

"Those values have always been a part of who I am and how I approach life," Cameron said at the time, sharing a glimpse at her family dynamic and highlighting how her father’s Cuban heritage has impacted her perspective on family life and cultural traditions.
