Days after her father President Donald Trump toured the fire devastation in California, First Daughter Ivanka Trump was out on the West Coast volunteering. The Women Who Work author helped CityServe distribute relief aid to families impacted by the Los Angeles County fires. She joined the organization, which is headquartered in California, on Tuesday at Expressions Church in Altadena and at the LA Dream Center.

"We had many families that came through that drive through that were just in tears because of their loss, because of what they're going through. They're so grateful to get help, and then their faces just turned to joy and hope when they got to see [Ivanka]. They were surprised," a source tells HOLA! USA. "The people in the line to receive aid or food, even at the Dream Center, they had no idea that she was going to be there. So it was a nice surprise when she popped her head through the window and said, 'Hey, I got this for you. Hope you're doing well.'"

"It was a nice treat for them," the source adds. "Gave them a lot of hope."

Ivanka's relationship with CityServe started during the pandemic, and she has since joined the organization in responding to other disasters. Following her latest involvement, CityServe co-founder and CEO Dave Donaldson said in a statement on Instagram, “Many of the families Ivanka helped have lost everything.”

"Their needs are desperate. Ivanka wrapped her arms around them and listened to their stories with enormous empathy," Dave continued. "She spent hours encouraging volunteers and first responders and distributing emergency supplies to families at Expression Church and the LA Dream Center.”

Ivanka praised the Dream Center's work in a video shared by Matthew Barnett, founder and CEO of the Dream Center. "It's amazing work that you're doing here to support the community," the president's daughter, 43, said as she carried one of the Planet Harvest food boxes that was being given out on Jan. 28. "Just keeping y'all in my prayers. It's so nice to see the incredible spirit and resilience of the Altadena community," calling it "a beautiful light in such a dark time."

CityServe noted on Instagram that they partnered with Expressions Church, Fearless Church, Love Has No Limits, and the LA Dream Center to make sure essentials were delivered to the “last mile of need.” HOLA! USA understands that CityServe, which has a vast network of local churches and partners, has already been able to deliver over a million dollars of relief aid.
