Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa, the future king and queen of Jordan, pose on a blanket on the floor, surrounded by a children's book, casual clothes, and a few stuffed toys. Standing almost at the center of the image is Princess Iman, who was born in August 2024 and has now become the true star of the family. “From Rajwa, our little Iman, and myself, we wish you a happy New Year filled with serenity and peace,” is the message the heir shares with the photo.

This image, seemingly simple but striking and carefully planned, comes two weeks after the Hashemite royal court’s Christmas greeting, a photo that went around the world in minutes. It was a family message full of symbolism, highlighting the kings’ role as grandparents, in other words the continuity, stability, unity, and future of their dynasty.

Queen Rania celebrates Christmas by sharing a family photo that emphasizes her role as a grandmother

The Jordanian royal family released a poignant photograph that brought together three generations of the Hashemite dynasty in a single frame. For their holiday greeting, the Royal Hashemite Court adopted an unusually intimate pose, with Queen Rania prominently featured in her role as a devoted grandmother beside her granddaughter. “We wish you a new year filled with peace and branches of hope reaching across generations. Queen Rania of Jordan makes a notable appearance in the first trailer for Melania, the upcoming documentary that follows Melania Trump’s return to the White House ahead of President Donald Trump’s second inauguration. Rania’s appearance also reflects a long-standing relationship between the two women, built through several meetings over the years, including during President Trump’s first term, when they discussed children’s welfare and education. More recently, Queen Rania attended the 2025 launch of Melania’s initiative, Fostering the Future Together, held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, and later shared a photo of their reunion, underscoring their continued focus on child well-being and access to education.
