It was an exceptionally intense day for royal fashion. All eyes were on the Nobel Prize ceremonies, both in Oslo, where we saw Ingrid of Norway debut three different looks in just two and a half hours, and in Stockholm, where Victoria of Sweden revived a gown her mother had worn to the same event 30 years earlier.

Now, our attention shifts to King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, who are taking part in several engagements during the State Visit of Finland’s President, Alexander Stubb, and his wife, Suzanne Innes-Stubb.

The day began with a welcome ceremony in Amsterdam’s Dam Square. Later this evening, after several afternoon engagements, including a visit to the Amsterdam Drone Lab, Queen Máxima will appear in full gala attire and tiara at the State Banquet, where Princess Amalia will also be present.

While we await every detail of her gala look, the Queen has already made a striking impression this morning with her fashion choices during the welcome ceremony, which included President Stubb laying a wreath at the National Monument in Dam Square.

To echo the soft hue of the outfit, she brought out aquamarines once owned by Queen Juliana, long briolette-cut aquamarine earrings attached to a diamond line that Máxima received as a gift from King Willem-Alexander in 2009.

Princess Amalia also wore these earrings on King’s Day in 2021. Her Art Deco-style brooch, centered with a large aquamarine, also made a return, most memorably worn at Prinsjesdag in 2017.

For accessories, Máxima opted for bold contrast with pieces in emerald green. The effect was striking thanks to a new bow-accented headpiece by Philip Treacy, along with leather gloves, a clutch, and transparent-detailed pumps by Natan.

In addition to the Nobel Prize festivities, Queen Máxima also had an engagement yesterday. She attended the PUM Impact Awards in The Hague, annual distinctions granted to organizations and entrepreneurs promoting sustainable growth and inclusive economic development.
