In Zaanstad, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands once again turned heads with her impeccable style during her official engagements, proving that her fashion choices remain as fabulous as ever.

The royal, who was recently spotted in New York, joined Secretary of State for Participation and Integration Jürgen Nobel for a working visit. The event is part of the Zaandam-Oost Pact 2024–2044, which aims to improve development opportunities, especially for young people, and came just a day after she attended an engagement in Houten.

Máxima gave her look an eco-conscious twist by choosing to recycle a piece from her wardrobe rather than debuting a new design.

On that occasion, she elevated a simple outfit with two crystal floral brooches pinned to her chest. For her Zaanstad appearance on October 15, 2025, Máxima embraced a timeless fabric, tweed.

This classic material has long been a favorite of elegant royals, from Princess Caroline of Monaco and Charlotte Casiraghi to Queen Letizia of Spain, who recently opted for a green wool tweed dress for Hispanic Day. Máxima, however, gave her look an eco-conscious twist by choosing to recycle a piece from her wardrobe rather than debuting a new design.

Specifically, the queen wore a tricolor tweed dress in white, black, and ochre by Oscar de la Renta. The design features a refined front button closure with golden buttons and eye-catching frayed details along the cuffs, pockets, and hemline.

To complement the ensemble, Máxima rewore her vintage triple-pearl earrings by Argentine designer Mercedes Robirosa.

This was not the first time she wore the dress. She originally debuted it on November 8, 2021, and wore it again for the European Advisory Council roundtable on financial health on October 27, 2023. She returned to the look on October 1, 2024, during a reception for participants of the 35th ASE Planetary Congress at the Royal Palace.

A key styling trick for Máxima is pairing this tweed dress with a slim gold metal belt, which accentuates her figure. For today’s outing, she gave the outfit a modern twist by swapping traditional heels for black slouchy boots, a style she favors and which is also popular with her daughters, Princesses Alexia and Ariane.

First worn on February 23, 2023, this 1980s-inspired design features three gold circles, each holding a pearl, and has appeared in eight of her previous outfits, including a visit to the Czech Republic in June 2025.

This fall, Máxima has been showcasing her versatility, effortlessly alternating between classic and daring styles. From New York to Luxembourg and France, her wardrobe has ranged from understated elegance to bold, vibrant statements.

Queen Máxima visited an exhibition on pediatric oncology at the Princess Máxima Center in Amsterdam.

In France, she stunned in a chic all-white ensemble adorned with pearls, while in Luxembourg, she opted for a memorable blue gala gown for the Grand Duke’s coronation banquet, complementing a striking green daytime look.

In New York, she once again proved her fashion acumen, earning praise for her style. Clearly, Queen Máxima is fearless in mixing and matching styles, even within a single outfit, demonstrating her passion for royal fashion.
