Princess Lilibet is four! Meghan Markle publicly wished her and Prince Harry's daughter a happy birthday on Tuesday, June 4. The Duchess celebrated her little girl with touching tributes on Instagram.

"Happy birthday to our beautiful girl! Four years ago today she came into our lives - and each day is brighter and better because of it. Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!" Meghan wrote alongside two black-and-white photos of her and Lilibet.

The first image shows Lilibet, wearing Clover's Popsicles dress, wrapped in her mother's arms on a boat. The As ever founder shared a second intimate image of herself holding her daughter as a newborn.

Hours later, Meghan posted two additional photos of Lilibet with Prince Harry. "The sweetest bond to watch unfold 💕Daddy’s little girl and favorite adventurer," the Duchess captioned the father-daughter photos of her husband sweetly holding Lili as a baby and another of him holding hands with his little Princess. "Happy birthday Lili!"

Lilibet was born on June 4, 2021 at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's daughter was named after her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, whose family nickname was Lilibet, while her middle name, Diana, was picked to honor her late paternal grandmother, Princess Diana

Princess Lilibet is currently seventh in line to the throne, after her paternal uncle Prince William, royal cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, her father Prince Harry and big brother Prince Archie.

On the bonus episode of her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder, Meghan told guest Tina Knowles, "I wonder if one day I’ll be in business with Lili and we’ll be building something." A photo of Lili running hand-in-hand with her mom was previously featured on Meghan's As ever website.

Speaking to PEOPLE earlier this year, the Duchess admitted, “Being able to have my own little girl, as I’ve spent so much of my life championing the rights of girls and women, and to be able to see this as a multigenerational story — Archie is of course included in that, my husband is of course included in that — but I love the heritage feeling of it and knowing this is something that I can create in front of my daughter and teach her what it’s like to be a working mom,” adding, “This is something that hopefully can be part of her legacy too.”
