Meghan Markle took a walk down memory lane on her and Prince Harry's seventh wedding anniversary. The Duchess of Sussex celebrated seven years of marriage to King Charles' younger son on Monday, May 19, with a collage of never-before-seen photos.
"Seven years of marriage. A lifetime of stories," the As ever founder captioned the post. "Thanks to all of you (whether by our side, or from afar) who have loved and supported us throughout our love story - we appreciate you.Happy anniversary! ❤️."
In her collage, Meghan included photos from when her and Harry's love story began in 2016 up to this year. Among the pictures were a sonogram of Prince Archie, a photo of Meghan with her baby bump exposed in 2019, one of Princess Lilibet in a crib and a picture from 2022 showing Archie giving his little sister a kiss near a Christmas tree. The Duchess also shared snapshots from her and Harry's travels and pictures of the two of them kissing.
The royal couple met in 2016. During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show earlier this year, the Duchess revealed that Harry made a vow to her when they started dating. Meghan said, "I count my blessings because I have him and also I have a partner who is so supportive of me and so I will tell you just, you know, when I was a babysitter nanny for two Irish Catholic families when I was in college and one of the dads said to me, he's like, ‘You know, Meghan, when you meet your person one day, I want him to say to you the same thing that I said to my wife when we got married, which is, I vow to always date my wife.'"
"And I told H that when we started dating, he goes, ‘I vow to always date you,’ so we have this connection, I think, because we're so committed to treating each other the same way you did before you had a ring on it, before it was locked down, when you're just courting each other and you can see all the good and joy in that butterfly period and that's I think what keeps things really alive," the Duchess continued.
Meghan and Harry got engaged in 2017 and tied the knot the following year on May 19, 2018 at St. George’s Chapel. Less than a year later, the Duke and Duchess welcomed their first child, son Prince Archie, in May 2019 in the UK. The couple, who stepped back as senior members of the royal family in 2020, welcomed their second child, daughter Princess Lilibet, in June 2021 in California.
This past March, Meghan told Drew Barrymore, "I did not expect to meet H and for this to be our love story and, you know, I'm very lucky."
