Princess Isabella of Denmark was feeling thankful the day after her 18th birthday. Queen Mary and King Frederik's older daughter penned a personal message shared by the Danish Royal House on Tuesday. "Thank you so much to everyone who helped celebrate my 18th birthday. It has been truly wonderful that so many have spent time, thought and effort to make my day very special," Isabella penned. "It means a lot to me."

The Princess' message was accompanied by a new picture of the royal teen. Queen Mary captured the photo of her daughter smiling at the camera, while holding an iPhone. Isabella was photographed dressed in the same outfit she wore for her first official gala portraits, which were taken in the Great Hall of Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg. The Danish Princess donned an off-the-shoulder orange gown for her glamorous portraits, which she teamed with a dazzling gift she received for her birthday: a tiara.

The turquoise and diamond tiara was a gift to Isabella from her paternal grandmother Queen Margrethe II, who abdicated last year. The headpiece is made of gold and adorned with 11 rosettes of daisy-like flowers made of turquoise and diamonds—a fitting gift, given that Margrethe's nickname is Daisy.

According to the Danish Royal House, Isabella's bandeau tiara "was made in the late 19th century and belonged to Crown Princess Margareta of Sweden. After her untimely death in 1920, her daughter, Princess Ingrid, received the tiara as a confirmation gift and brought it to Denmark upon her marriage to the later Frederik IX."

Princess Isabella turned 18 on April 21, 2025. Ahead of her big day, the royal's birthday was fêted with celebrations in Aarhus and Copenhagen. The first official event took place on April 11 at Aarhus City Hall, where Isabella delivered a speech, saying (translated to English), "Dear Mayor, dear Aarhus, dear everyone who has come together today. Thank you so much for a very special birthday celebration. It makes me really happy to be celebrated in a city that has great meaning to me and my family. Here I have celebrated Christmas and Easter, taken walks in the garden and by the water, and enjoyed myself in the old town since I was little."

"I have many good memories from Aarhus, today I have another. And there will definitely be more after that. Thank you for the dance and music, the show and the cake. I have pursued many hobbies myself, and it has been a shortcut to joy, friendship and community for me. I am sure it is for you too," she continued. "Thank you for the birthday song, a whole book of greetings and for the beautiful piece of jewelry. The fact that you have chosen to celebrate me, and that so many have come together, makes me happy and touched. You should know that it means a lot to me."

Four days later, Isabella along with her parents, siblings and other members of the royal family attended a birthday performance at The Royal Theatre's Old Stage in Copenhagen. The teen looked every inch a Princess dressed in a sparkling full skirt dress for the celebration.

Isabella is King Frederik and Queen Mary's second child and eldest daughter. The Princess is currently second in line to the Danish throne, after her older brother, Crown Prince Christian.
