Halle Berry took to Instagram to give her fans a glimpse into her low-key weekend, posting a makeup-free selfie from bed. The post was shared just days before Christmas while spotlighting a book she credits with shaping her craft. The Oscar-winning actress posted the intimate snap to Instagram as part of her #HBBooksFromBed series, showing off her natural beauty as she relaxed with her latest read.
Halle, 59, showed off her fresh-faced complexion and had her natural curls styled into a side-parted lob that showcased her golden highlights. The Bond Girl star pulled a white blanket up to her chest as she laid back against her white pillows - showing her followers a glimpse of her skimpy black tank top with minimal spaghetti straps.
Berry accessorised her look with a pair of black cat eye glasses, a gold chain necklace, and her latest book, The Power of the Actor by Ivana Chubbuck.
She captioned the post: "It's time for another #HBBooksFromBed. This holiday season, if you're looking for a unique gift, I'm excited to share with you one of my absolute favorite books of the past 20 years. The Power of the Actor by @ivanachubbuckstudio is a must read for any aspiring and working actor or anyone who dares to live life more fully by expressing themselves more clearly.
"Ivana has been one of my acting teachers for 2 decades, who has inspired me to constantly challenge myself, be fearless in my choices, and to strive to reach higher than I ever thought I could. It's her brilliance and our work together that led me to my historic Oscar win!"
Halle became the first - and remains the only - Black woman to win the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the 2001 movie Monster's Ball, but previously revealed that she was "disheartened" after the success, as it didn't open the doors to satisfying parts for her.
She said back in 2021, "I was very disheartened after winning that gorgeous guy. I was sure the script truck would just back itself up to my front door. That’s what I thought would happen. Like: now I’m going to get all the great parts. But unfortunately for me, that was not my reality. I’ve been continuing to try to make ways for myself. Because it’s hard. I don’t often find great parts that I really, really love to sink my teeth into."
