Sitting still in itchy outfits isn't the only tradition your kids should remember when they grow older. Now that Easter Sunday is upon us, and the kids have completed their egg hunt and sugar crashes, most kids are bouncing off the walls by 10 a.m. So, if you're looking for ways to keep the little ones entertained (and yourself sane) all day long, we've got you covered.

These 5 Easter activities are super fun, low-stress, and perfect for creating sweet family memories without deep-coating glitter on your carpet for the next six months.

Backyard Egg Hunt Glow-Up

Yes, the classic egg hunt is a must. But we're giving it a glow-up. Instead of just tossing plastic eggs around the lawn like it's a clearance sale, add some flair.

Try color-coding eggs by a kid (so the big kids don't swipe all the good ones), or write little clues inside for a mini scavenger hunt twist. You can even do a glow-in-the-dark version with LED eggs if you're celebrating later in the day. Bonus points for swapping out candy with small toys, temporary tattoos, or coins (kids will trade a chocolate bunny for a buck).

Easter Cookie Decorating Station

Move over, gingerbread. Easter cookies are the new DIY sugar rush.

Set up a decorating station with sugar cookies (store-bought is totally allowed), pastel frosting, sprinkles, and candy eyes. Let the kids go wild, making bunny faces, chick beaks, or abstract blobs that still taste amazing. This one doubles as a snack and an activity, which is basically parenting gold.

Pro tip: Lay down parchment paper to contain the chaos and make cleanup less soul-crushing.

Bunny Hop Obstacle Course

Turn your backyard (or living room, if the weather's not vibing) into a mini Olympics, Easter edition.

Think hop races in potato sacks, spoon-and-egg relays, ring toss with bunny ears, or even a "pin the tail on the bunny" game. You can make it a full-on competition with prizes or just let them run wild while you chill with a mimosa.

Either way, the kids burn off energy, and you get five uninterrupted minutes of peace. Win-win.

Easter Craft Time (That Won't Destroy Your House)

Crafts don't have to mean glitter explosions and glue in someone's hair. Keep it simple and cute. Try these easy ideas:

  • Paper plate bunny masks
  • Cotton ball sheep with googly eyes
  • Painted rocks that look like eggs (way less messy than dye kits)

Keep a "craft bin" with everything prepped and ready to go, and you'll look like a Pinterest parent without actually becoming one.

Easter Storytime Picnic

Cap the day with something low-key and cozy. Grab a blanket, pack some snacks, and read a few Easter-themed books outside (or inside if it's chilly). Think "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" or "Happy Easter, Mouse!" for the littles, or even let the kids take turns telling their own silly springtime stories.

You get fresh air, chill vibes, and a screen-free moment before bedtime hits. And if someone falls asleep mid-snack, that's just called a parenting win.
