Camila Morrone is an American actress and model with a strong connection to her Argentine roots. Born on July 16th, 1997, in Los Angeles, California, Morrone has acting and performing in her genes. Born to Lucila Polak, known as Lucila Sola, and Maximo Morrone, Camilia has learned acting from both of her parents, who are stars in their native Argentina.

In various interviews, Morrone has opened up about her background. "I'm Argentinean! My parents were born and raised in Argentina, as well as my grandparents. I have no one in the US, just my parents. So you can't tell me I'm not from Argentina! I just returned from Buenos Aires. I was in Punta del Este and I had the best time," she said at the 2024 Emmys red carpet.

Morrone began her career as a model, signing with IMG Models, resulting in contracts with brands like Topshop, Lefties, Pink, Sephora, and more. After getting a taste of acting, Morrone let go of modeling and focused on her new vocation. Something that helped her was the acquisition of an incredible mentor. In 2006, following the divorce of her parents, her mother began dating Al Pacino, with him becoming an important person and reference in Morrone's life.

"There was a lot of stress surrounding acting, and it was a constant source of conversation: never knowing where the next paycheck was coming from. I thought, 'I'm gonna go to college. I'm gonna get a 9 to 5 job.' And of course, I ended up doing the same thing as they did."

In an appearance on "The Late Late Show with James Corden," Morrone shared that when she acquired the role for the film "Bukowski," the first person she called was Pacino, her stepdad. "He told me: 'Come to my house. Let's make some tea and look over the script.'"

After a two-hour reading, Pacino told her, 'You'll be fine. Just act. Be yourself. If you have to cry, cry. Just act. React to the scene and you'll be fine." At first, Morrone wasn't fully invested in acting. After seeing how challenging the industry was, especially for independent actors like her parents, she was interested in pursuing a job that provided her with stability. But life had other surprises for her.

In 2013, Morrone made her acting debut with the film "Bukowski," directed by James Franco. She was also cast in movies like "Never Goin' Back" and "Death Wish," slowly working up the ranks, acquiring positive reviews, and gaining notoriety in a challenging industry. She then nabbed the role of Camila Alvarez-Dunne in the hit TV show "Daisy Jones & The Six," completely changing the trajectory of her career.

"When I speak to people my age and they’re in a phase of their life where they’re not quite sure what drives them, I think to myself, 'Wow, I’m really lucky that I know with certainty where my heart wants to be.'"

The series is set in the music scene of Los Angeles in the '70s, sharing the rise and fall of a fictional rock band inspired by the music and the relationship drama that surrounded Fleetwood Mac. Morrone plays the role of Billy Dunne's wife, the lead singer and composer of the band. Her performance was nominated for multiple award shows, including the Critics' Choice Awards, the Emmy Awards, and more.

In the personal side of her life, Morrone dated Leonardo DiCaprio for a few years, with the relationship starting in 2017 and concluding in 2022. She's currently dating the music video director Cole Bennett.
