Harper Beckham may only be 14, but her latest Paris appearance made it clear she is already fluent in the language of effortless cool.
Stepping out with her family in the French capital during Haute Couture Fashion Week, the youngest Beckham turned heads as she left her hotel on Tuesday afternoon, bundled into a plush blue fur coat and dark-wash jeans.
Draped over her arm was a serious fashion statement. She accessorized with a 90s vintage jumbo flap Chanel bag. It was the kind of understated, fashion-insider accessory that felt perfectly at home on the streets of Paris.
The trip marked a meaningful moment for the Beckham family. They were in town to support Victoria Beckham, 51, who had been awarded the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Ministry of Culture the night before.
The prestigious honour recognizes major contributions to the arts and culture, and previous recipients include Zoe Saldaña, Selena Gomez, Jude Law, and Denis Villeneuve.
While the Paris outing was celebratory on the surface, it also came against the backdrop of intense family drama. The appearance was the Beckhams’ first public one since their eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, made a bombshell statement.
Brooklyn, 26, also claimed he no longer wants a relationship with his family, writing, “I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.”
Despite the tension, Harper appeared calm and composed as she walked alongside her parents and brothers, Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20. Harper was notably not mentioned in Brooklyn’s six-page statement, but reports claim he is struggling with the distance between them.
“He really loves and misses Harper and wishes there was some way for him to see her without him seeing his parents,” a source previously told The Sun. “They were really close – and Harper was close with Nicola – so for this drama to come between them is heartbreaking.”
That closeness has only added another emotional layer to the situation, particularly as Nicola Peltz’s past comments about Harper have resurfaced. The actress, 31, once spoke warmly about her bond with her sister-in-law, telling Grazia, “I had wanted a little sister so bad, and Harper is the sweetest. I have the coolest little sister,” adding that Harper used to send her Snapchats.
In Paris, however, the focus was firmly on Victoria’s achievement. The former Spice Girl was presented with the honour by French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati during a star-studded ceremony attended by her family. Taking to the podium, Victoria made a point of acknowledging those closest to her, including her children.
“I'd like to start by thanking the French ministry of culture and the Minister of Culture, Madame Rachida Dati. For this honor and for your kind words, I am extremely grateful,” she said, before later thanking her family for “always believing in my vision.”
Harper also made her support known in a more personal way. Commenting on her mother’s Instagram post from the evening, she wrote simply and powerfully, “My biggest role model x.”
Harper’s Paris wardrobe reflected her style and confidence. The family’s stay in the City of Lights also included Romeo and Cruz spending time with their girlfriends, Kim Turnbull and Jackie Apostel, with the group spotted out for a double date at Kaspia restaurant. Romeo had already been in Paris for Men’s Fashion Week.
