Leonardo DiCaprio’s girlfriend made headlines in Venice, but this time not just for her fashion moments. Vittoria Ceretti showed up to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s star-studded wedding final celebration in a vintage Dolce & Gabbana gown once worn by none other than DiCaprio’s ex-girlfriend, Gisele Bündchen.
But by the end of the night, the now-iconic silver dress was literally falling apart. The final event of the three-day celebration was a pajama-themed party called 'Dolce Notte,' which invited guests to reimagine luxury loungewear.
Ceretti delivered a red carpet moment, stepping out in a sheer, sequined archival piece originally worn by Bündchen at the 2003 Met Gala. The Italian model, 27, documented her wardrobe mishap on Instagram, posting a “before and after” series showing the damage unfolding in real time.
“How it started,” she wrote over a video of a small tear. Moments later, she shared a follow-up, a massive rip across the legs of the dress with the caption, “How it’s going.”
The gown, made of delicate sheer fabric and embellished in silver sequins, looked fragile even before it split apart. Online users noted that the embellishments on Ceretti’s version appeared more frayed than when Bündchen, now 44, wore the piece two decades ago.
DiCaprio and Ceretti, who were first linked in 2023, attended the final party together, with the actor trying his best to go incognito in a cap. Their romance has remained mostly under wraps, but in Vogue France’s April issue, Ceretti opened up about what it’s like dating someone so famous.
“It’s something you learn,” she said. “If what you’re experiencing is real, if you know you love each other, then there’s no reason to be alarmed. Because love protects and gives confidence.” However, the same can’t be said for vintage fabrics.
Ceretti was photographed leaving the Gritti Palace Hotel in the dress just before the party began. It’s unclear if she knew the dress had once belonged to her boyfriend’s ex, but the internet certainly noticed.
This was the exact look Bündchen wore at the Met Gala, during their five-year relationship that ended in 2005. Bündchen later reflected on their split in a 2009 Vanity Fair interview.
“We know what we had; we were very young, and we grew together in a lot of ways. We were just not meant to be boyfriend and girlfriend, but I respect him enormously, and I wish him nothing but the best," she said at the time.
