The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards are days away, and you don't want to miss one of the biggest nights in entertainment. Hosted by LL Cool J, the awards are taking place at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, and this year is gearing up to have epic performances, history-making moments, and, of course, a fashionable red carpet. Leading the pack with nominations is Lady Gaga with 12, followed closely by Bruno Mars with 11. Other multi-nominees include Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, Charli XCX, and all four BLACKPINK members.

Here’s everything you need to know about when, where, and how to watch the VMAs, performers, special awards, and more.

When are the 2025 VMAs? 

Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT

How to watch the 2025 VMAs 

The show will be simulcast on CBS and MTV. You can stream the show live with a Paramount+ Premium subscription, which includes access to your local CBS channel.

Live Streaming: 

  • Paramount+ Premium ($60/year during fall sale)
  • On-Demand: Paramount+ Essential (available the day after)
  • Free Trial: Paramount+ still offers a trial, so new subscribers could watch the VMAs for free this week.

The red carpet – pre-show

Leading up to the main show, the red carpet pre-show kicks off at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT on MTV and multiple other networks (BET, Comedy Central, CMT, Nickelodeon, VH1, and more). And of course, stay tuned to HOLA!'s social media for the biggest fashion moments of the night.
