According to the Metropolitan Police, officers on duty at the 90,000-seat stadium, along with venue medics and the London Ambulance Service, responded to reports at 22:19 BST that a man in his 40s had fallen from the upper tier.

The highest stands at Wembley Stadium reach approximately 170 feet above the ground. Police said in a statement, “A man aged in his 40s was found with injuries consistent with a fall. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”

“The stadium was busy, and we believe it is likely that a number of people witnessed the incident, or may have knowingly or unknowingly caught it on mobile phone video footage. If you have any information that could help us to confirm what happened, please call 101."

Multiple concertgoers took to social media to describe what they witnessed. One attendee posted on Facebook, “The atmosphere was incredible. We were nearing the end of the concert, when in the middle of Wonderwall, he fell right in front of us, a few metres away. It was very shocking and we left Wembley very upset."

Despite the tragic event, Oasis returned to Wembley Stadium on August 3rd for their fifth and final show before their upcoming performances scheduled for September 27 and 28.

Before performing Live Forever, Liam Gallagher dedicated the song in his usual tour tradition, “This one’s for all the people who can’t be here tonight, but who are here if you know what I mean, and aren’t they looking lovely?"
