Jenna Ortega leads an all-star cast that includes Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Steve Buscemi, and more, with the new trailer showing the first glimpse of the awaited season. The series finds Wednesday returning to Nevermore Academy with a newfound and unwelcome fame after the events that took place in the first season.

The teaser is filled with some of Wednesday's memorable lines. When asked about her feelings when returning to school, Wednesday says, “Like returning to the scene of the crime. … I already know where the bodies are buried."

The trailer also suggests some tension and drama, including the possibility of Enid's death, Wednesday's roommate and friend. “Enid dies and it’s all my fault,” says Wednesday to her mother.

In previous statements from Netflix, the series will find Wednesday investigating a new mystery. “Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery," reads the official synopsis.

More details about the second season of 'Wednesday'

The second season of "Wednesday" premieres on Netflix in two parts, ensuring that fans have plenty of the show to tide them over. The first half premieres on August 6th, and the second on September 3rd.

Aside from new characters joining as season regulars, like Billie Piper and Evie Templeton, the show will feature plenty of exciting cameos, including Lady Gaga, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O'Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and more.

Ortega opened up about working with Lady Gaga and had nothing but praise for the artist. "She's the best, definitely one of the most talented individuals I've ever worked with. It was just a really, really special environment to be there with her and Tim [Burton], two people that I respect and have been inspired by so much."
