Netflix Tudum is back, and this year’s global fan event is bigger than ever. Streaming live from the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Saturday, May 31, at 5:00 PM PT, Tudum 2025 is set to bring exclusive sneak previews, surprise performances, and a jaw-dropping lineup of stars straight to your screen. And leading the charge? Sofia Carson.
The Purple Hearts and Feel The Beat star is hosting this year’s live event, and she’s not taking the responsibility lightly. “It’s been a really exciting process and a really collaborative one with Netflix, which is always how it goes with them,” Carson told HOLA! ahead of the big day.
“I was invited to host about a month and a half ago and immediately got on creative calls with ideas that I wanted to bring to life with them.” From there, it was full-on prep mode, “deep into rehearsals and script writing,” and this week, she’s locking in full dress rehearsals at the Kia Forum.
Yes, she’s nervous. But yes, she’s ready. “Of course, of course,” Carson said when asked if she still gets butterflies. “As a performer, I’ve been so lucky to perform on some of the biggest stages in the world… but every time I get to do something that’s a little bit different than what I’m used to, it’s always a little nerve-wracking.”
She’s hosted before - Oscar red carpets, the RMAs - but nothing like this. “Never something of this magnitude,” she added. “So it’s really exciting, and I don’t take the responsibility lightly. I’m really excited to give it my all and to really dedicate this one to the fans that have been so extraordinary to me.”
So what exactly can fans expect? A massive lineup featuring stars from Stranger Things, Wednesday, Emily in Paris, Squid Game, Outer Banks, Love is Blind, The Rip, Frankenstein, One Piece, My Life with the Walter Boys, WWE, The Life List, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, Happy Gilmore 2, and more. We're talking names like Ben Affleck, Jenna Ortega, Guillermo Del Toro, Mia Goth, Oscar Isaac, Matt Damon, Teyana Taylor, and more.
There’s even a performance from Lady Gaga on the books. “It’s a really extraordinary group of artists that will be there on Saturday with me,” Carson said. “I’m so excited to see them.”
She wouldn’t spill too many details on the surprises- “There’s a couple, but I don’t want to share them because it’s gonna be surprises” - but trust, she knows the fans are going to lose it.
With two full days of rehearsals, a few friends coming out to support her in the crowd, and a fresh hosting ritual in the works (TBD), Carson’s main goal is to feel “prepared, at peace, and comfortable in my skin.” And when asked to describe Tudum in just one word? She didn’t hesitate: “Thrilling.”
