Bad Bunny is continuing his Hollywood journey with a new exciting role. The singer is debuting a striking new look to go with it in the latest trailer of 'Caught Stealing,' a crime thriller from director Darren Aronofsky, where the musician shares the screen with Austin Butler and Zoe Kravitz.
The Grammy-winning artist, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, stars in the highly anticipated production, which is set in the 1990s in New York City, and follows the descent of a former baseball player, played by Butler, into the city’s criminal underworld.
Meanwhile, Bad Bunny plays a vengeful Puerto Rican gangster, sporting copper-toned curls and a matching beard, a dramatic departure from his usual style.
The film is set to hit theaters on August 29 with a star-studded cast, including more fan-favorite actors, such as Matt Smith, Regina King, Liev Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio, Griffin Dunne, Carol Kane, Action Bronson, and D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai.
The movie is a fresh adaptation of Charlie Huston’s 2004 novel, which Huston himself adapted for the screen. Before the trailer was released, photos from the set were already generating buzz online, as the cast was spotted filming on the streets of New York City.
Bad Bunny stood out in a brown-and-yellow plaid suit, full beard, and auburn curls. His new role follows his roles in 'Bullet Train' and 'Cassandro.' “It was an amazing experience,” he told E! News at the premiere of 'Bullet Train' recalling working with Brad Pitt.
“I'm very proud of it,” he added, sharing his excitement to continue his acting career and his success in the film industry. This time, the production promises to give Benito a more dramatic performance, " in the downtown criminal underworld of ’90s NYC," as described by the director.
“In all honesty, there's been an evolution in everything I do," he told E! News in 2020 about his career. “I follow my intuition and soul… I can see the change in my personality and in my style.”
