Demet Özdemir and Çağatay Ulusoy are two of the biggest names in Turkish TV right now. Demet won audiences over as the charming Sanem in Erkenci Kuş, the hit series she starred in alongside Can Yaman that catapulted her to fame. Meanwhile, Çağatay made his mark in El secreto de Feriha and Medzecir, and more recently, he led Netflix’s Turkish sensation El Sastre. Now, for the first time, these two powerhouses are coming together for Eşref Rüya (Eşref’s Dream), one of the most highly anticipated Turkish dramas of the season. With a gripping story and a lead duo that has fans buzzing, the show promises to tug at viewers’ heartstrings.

Çağatay and Demet, along with the rest of the cast, had their first script reading in early February, and the chemistry between them was undeniable—something they’ll no doubt bring to the screen. Filming officially kicked off last Thursday in Istanbul, with a premiere set for March on Turkey’s Kanal D. Excitement is through the roof, among their loyal fans and lovers of Turkish dramas in general.

Viewers are already counting down the days for this mix of romance, drama, and action. Çağatay plays Eşref, while Demet takes on the role of Nisan—two people trying to rekindle a love that has turned to ashes.

Produced by Tims&B, one of Turkey’s leading production companies, Eşref Rüya follows Eşref, a bold and powerful man who seemingly has it all—wealth, influence, and a privileged life. But deep down, he’s a prisoner to a love he’s never truly experienced. Despite his dominance in the underworld, he’s searching for something he can’t quite grasp. That is until he meets Nisan, a young and talented musician who is the first to make his heart race.

Eşref, orphaned at a young age, was pulled into the mafia world and has since built a name for himself in this dark universe. For him, fellow orphans are his true family—except that this "family" only exists within the confines of crime.

Despite his immense power and leadership in underground criminal organizations, Eşref is still chasing the inner peace he’s never been able to find. But when Nisan, a woman with a past full of secrets, enters his life, she sets off a chain of events that will change his fate in ways he never expected.

Joining Özdemir and Ulusoy is an impressive supporting cast, including Necip Memili (Dolunay), Ahmet Rıfat Şungar (Gracias, ¿el siguiente?), Ahmet Yıldırım (Mi nombre es Farah), and Macit Koper (Oh, Belinda). With direction from Uluç Bayraktar and a script by Ethem Özışık and Lokman Maral, the series is packed with intense emotions and unexpected twists.

For Özdemir, Eşref Rüya is another big challenge, as she once again plays a woman drawn into a dangerous world—similar to her critically acclaimed role in Mi nombre es Farah. In that series, based on true events, she portrayed a single mother struggling to protect her son, only to become entangled in a deadly criminal plot after witnessing a mafia hit. Now, in Eşref Rüya, she faces another high-stakes romance with a man tied to the underworld.

As for Ulusoy, he remains one of Turkey’s most respected and internationally recognized actors. With Eşref Rüya, both he and Demet dive into a high-stakes love story filled with crime, suspense, and emotional depth. With all the right ingredients for a major hit, this series is set to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
