Sydney Sweeney is taking some unconventional methods to promote her lingerie line. According to new reports, Sweeney and her team decided to wrap bras on the Hollywood sign, a feat that may result in legal repercussions.
TMZ shared footage of Sweeney and her team's advertising stunt, showing her wearing a hoodie and a cap as she and her crew worked at night. The group is seen climbing the Hollywood sign, throwing and hanging bras wherever they could reach.
The outlet reports that Sweeney and her team had permission from FilmLA, yet they didn't have permission to use the image of the Hollywood sign.
"It has come to our attention that you and crew filmed the Hollywood Sign last night for a production connected with Persuasion Pictures. Please be advised that the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce owns the intellectual property rights to use of the image of the Hollywood Sign and neither you nor the production company have sought or received permission to use the images captured for any commercial use," reads the alleged.
"We understand that you received a film permit from FiImLA, whose staff assures me that you were notified of the requirements to seek a license from the Chamber prior to your shoot. Please contact me so that we can discuss this and work to reach an agreement on your proposed use of our IF). Thank you for your cooperation."
TMZ reports that if the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce were to press charges, Sweeney and her crew could be charged with vandalism or criminal trespass.
The outlet also claims that Sweeney's lingerie brand is under wraps, with one of the investors being Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, and many other notable ventures. Sweeney has a friendly relationship with Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sanchez Bezos, with her attending their wedding in Venice last summer.
More details about Sweeney's lingerie line
Last summer, it was reported that Sweeney was working on her lingerie line. “This has been a huge project for her and something she’s been working on for the last year,” said a source to US Weekly.
While Sweeney is primarily known for her acting work, she's also an ambassador for various businesses, including HeyDude, Bai beverages, Dr. Sasquatch, and, memorably, Levi's.
“I love working," said Sweeney when discussing her schedule with Empire. "I love having to juggle multiple things at the same time. I don’t really sleep much, but I do best when I don’t sleep much.”
