Eva Longoria has worn many crowns. 'Desperate Housewives' icon, director, philanthropist, producer, and now, festive film royalty. But amid talk of new projects, including her new Netflix movie with Kim Kardashian, one constant sparkles just as brightly, and that's her unwavering admiration for Victoria Beckham.
As whispers swirl around the Beckham family, including ongoing headlines involving Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz, Longoria’s voice cuts through the noise with something refreshingly solid. Loyalty, warmth, and a deep affection for her longtime friend.
Inside their longtime friendship:
Longoria and Beckham’s bond dates back to 2007, when their worlds collided through their then-husbands. Victoria Beckham had been married to football superstar David Beckham since 1999, while Longoria was married to NBA champion Tony Parker from 2007 to 2011.
David and Tony were friends, and that connection sparked something lasting. When the Beckhams relocated to Los Angeles, the friendship deepened. Over time, Longoria became not just a confidante but family. She is the godmother to the Beckhams’ daughter, Harper Seven.
In a 2023 interview with The Times, Longoria summed it up simply and sweetly. “We are peas in a pod.” She didn’t stop there. “I wish people knew how funny and charming and smart Victoria is,” she added. “She’s the funniest person. I think she’s an introvert, but she’s an extrovert with me. We are inseparable.”
Their friendship isn’t confined to red carpets. It’s built in kitchens, closets, and late-night chats. Speaking to People, Longoria revealed. “We have sleepovers all the time, mostly at their farmhouse or in London. We usually just blab all night.”
And the support runs deep, emotionally and professionally. “She’s extremely loyal,” Longoria continued. “There’s never a moment I can’t call her, that she’s not available, that she’s not flying to see me, or I’m flying to see her. Or I’m raiding her closet. She gives me motherly advice and business advice.”
Victoria even played a hands-on role in Longoria’s wedding to José Bastón, designing several of her looks and helping her get ready. Their shared history took center stage again in Victoria Beckham’s Netflix docuseries 'Victoria Beckham,' released in 2025, where both women reflected on their time as high-profile wives and girlfriends of elite athletes and the scrutiny that came with the label.
Victoria described it plainly. “It was a moment in time.” Longoria recalled her initial confusion with the term. “I didn’t know what a ‘WAG’ was,” she said. “I remember seeing in a press clipping that I was a WAG and I was like, ‘What the f--- is that?’”
She went on to describe the assumptions placed on women in those roles. “It’s hard when you’re married to an athlete because the world idolizes them. There’s an assumption that goes with being a wife or a girlfriend is that you’re a gold digger, you don’t have a job, you just want to look pretty and spend money.”
She added. “It was like, ‘Ugh how can you have a job?’ Your job is to support your husband.” Victoria, too, was candid about her own mindset at the time. “There was an element of attention-seeking,” she admitted.
“It was at a time when I didn’t feel creatively fulfilled so it’s how I stayed in the conversation. I didn’t realize it at the time but I was trying to find myself.” She also jokingly reframed the narrative. “We were the WAGs and they were the HABs. Husbands and boyfriends.”
Eva Longoria's latest interview:
Longoria’s admiration for Beckham long predates the docuseries. During a rapid-fire interview with Attitude, she made it clear who her Spice Girl loyalty has always belonged to.
Asked if Victoria Beckham was her favourite Spice Girl, she replied without hesitation. “Always. I thought she was really, really fun.” Reflecting on seeing Beckham back on stage during the Spice Girls’ 2007 reunion tour, Longoria added. “Being back on a stage lit up her heart in a way you knew the first time meant something to her.”
Longoria has been a constant presence at Beckham milestones, from fashion shows to family celebrations. She attended the world premiere of 'Victoria Beckham' in London on October 8, 2025, dazzling in a white satin cowl-neck gown.
She also joined the Beckhams in Saint-Tropez in July, vacationing aboard a yacht alongside David and Victoria, their son Cruz Beckham, 20, and his girlfriend Jackie Apostel. Earlier, she celebrated David Beckham’s 50th birthday at Core restaurant in West London.
Speaking to The Sun, Longoria didn’t hide her admiration. “I am a fan of David Beckham, I watch David. He’s very smart.”
As speculation continues to surround the Beckham family, Eva Longoria’s voice offers something grounding. Her relationship with Victoria Beckham isn’t performative or conditional, it’s stitched together with history, humor, and hard-won understanding.
