Victoria and David Beckham are reflecting on some 'great memories' they shared with estranged son Brooklyn Beckham in their first public comments since his bombshell rant.
The couple's eldest son, 26, said that he did not wish to reconcile with his family in his lengthy statement on Monday, Jan. 19. As the long-rumored feud continues to escalate in the media, both David and Victoria have reflected on sweet memories with Brooklyn.
On Saturday, British photographer Platon posted some throwback photos from 2006, which included a snap showing the former footballer with Brooklyn's name tattooed on his back. He also shared insight from the day he photographed David, 50, who was playing for Real Madrid at the time.
He wrote alongside the flicks: "Victoria arrived with Brooklyn, who was seven years old, Romeo, who was four and Cruz, who was just a baby. Brooklyn and Romeo charged into the studio wearing football kits, kicking balls, doing headers and other tricks."
He continued, "While Victoria was busy with the children, I started work with David. At one point, Brooklyn ran on set with his football under his arm and hugged his dad's right leg. Then, Romeo joined his older brother. Then, Victoria also appeared with baby Cruz in her arms. The whole family turned away from us for a private heartfelt group hug. It was a poignant thing to see—this spontaneous moment of affection happening on a giant photography set in front of 60 people."
The photographer concluded his caption by writing, "In this picture, although David stands alone, we see the love of his children tattooed onto his back. Family is everything. David Beckham, I salute you."
The Beckhams were clearly touched by the photos, happy to revisit less tumultuous times with their family. David replied underneath the post and wrote, "Good memories." The former Spice Girl echoed that same sentiment, commenting, "Brings back great memories!"
In his statement earlier this week, Brooklyn accused his parents of trying to ruin his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz, 30, claiming his mother danced "inappropriately" on him during their wedding in 2022.
Their wedding DJ, Fat Tony, appeared on ITV's This Morning on Friday to give more insight into what really happened, calling the incident "really awkward" and confirming Nicola fled the reception in tears.
A longtime friend of the Beckhams, Tony claims Marc Anthony was to blame for the tension at the reception, saying the musician called Victoria to the dance floor with her son and instructed him to, "place your hands on your mother's hips.'"
He went on to combat some online rumors, clarify: "There was no slut-dropping, there was no PVC cat suits, no Spice Girl action! The word 'inappropriate,' why I said it was as well, it was the timing, this is what happened."
"Families are families, I don’t know what started it. At one point someone might say something publicly," Tony said while speaking to Daily Mail. "Brooklyn is upset about a lot of things, sometimes the smallest of things can become the biggest of things, because it highlights it. I’m not speaking bad about either party in it, I’m just putting the narrative straight about the dance."
