Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie were already having a moment. Then they started speaking Spanish, and broke the internet once again. Right after their Golden Globes appearance that sent fans into meme-making overdrive, the Heated Rivalry stars sparked a whole new wave of obsession when a clip from their interview for Quinn (the app) began circulating online. In it, the actors behind Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov casually talk about languages and accents, and somehow turn what should be a normal conversation into one of the hottest viral moments of the year.
When asked about accents and languages, Storrie did not hesitate. “Right now I really want to learn Spanish,” he said, explaining that growing up in West Texas and now living in Los Angeles meant Spanish has always been part of his everyday world. Even so, he admitted there is something about it that hits differently. “I’ve heard it my whole life,” he said, before adding, “but I think it’s sexy.”
Then came the line fans immediately latched onto: “Spanish is muy sexy.”
That alone was enough to send comment sections into a spiral, but the two kept going. Without missing a beat, he weighed in on accents and casually ignited a debate that is still raging across social media. Hudson added, “I think Colombian Spanish is the sexiest language there is.”
Storrie continued, “I like the traditional Spain Spanish. Vamos a la playa de Barcelona, con Javier Bardem.”
Hudson added, “And Ana de Armas.” Storrie quickly corrected him, noting that she’s Cuban. Their playful attempt at a Spain-style accent sent fans into a spiral.
The clip also ends with the two going back and forth, tossing out Spanish phrases like “Muchas gracias,” “De nada,” “corazón de melón,” “mi hermoso,” “mi esposo,” “mi amor,” and “todo mi corazón.” The post has fans taking sides, posting edits, and looping the moment nonstop.
The interview came at a time when Heated Rivalry, based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changers novels, was already getting extremely popular. The show follows two elite hockey players whose rivalry slowly evolves into a secret relationship driven by lust, denial, and years of unresolved tension.
The series’s enemies-to-lovers dynamic, paired with elite athletes and a slow emotional build, was always expected to excite viewers. However, no one predicted that the chemistry between the two actors would fuel endless fan reactions and TikTok clips, many of which rack up millions of views. Lines from the show have turned into memes; screenshots and film stills circulate daily, showing the fandom is real and deeply invested, and the actors are as well. They appear to love it.
During the interview, Williams addressed the fan’s obsession. “People like our bodies,” he said. He added, “Let’s just be honest about it, people.” Storrie echoed the sentiment and joked that seeing all the love for the show has them motivated to work out even more.
Beyond the thirst factor, both actors spoke about why Heated Rivalry resonates so strongly. Williams explained that the physical connection between Shane and Ilya is not just there for shock value. “Physical intimacy isn’t just spice on top of the romance,” he said. “It’s a vehicle to explore relationship dynamics and character.” For much of their relationship, he noted, sex is how the characters communicate, something audiences don’t often get to see portrayed with this level of care.
