Every so often, a show brings the masses together, and this year it seems to be HBO Max’s Heated Rivalry. One of the breakout stars is Hudson Williams, who ran into Ricky Martin during Milan Fashion Week. The singer posted a couple of selfies from a pre-show dinner ahead of the Giorgio Armani runway, revealing they were "seat neighbors."
The new friends smiled for the cameras, “Pre-show dinner in Milan. Great food, better conversations, excellent seat neighbor," Martin captioned the pic, tagging Hudson. "Grateful for the invitation, @giorgioarmani family.”
Williams was in the comments responding, "Fabulous conversation" with a red heart emoji. Fans loved seeing the unexpected duo, with nearly 500k people liking the post.
There were also over 2k comments, including a cheeky one from Ricky’s ex-husband, visual artist Jwan Yosef. The Syrian-Swedish quipped, “I’d watch this show" with a popcorn emoji.
Martin acknowledged the comment by liking it. Over 2k people liked Yosef's comment, with some hilarious responses like "this comment is wild."
What is Heated Rivalry?
The HBO Max drama, based on the books by Rachel Reid, centers on professional hockey stars Ilya Grigoryevich Rozanov (played by Connoer Storrie) and Shane Hollander (played by Hudson Williams).
On the ice, the two are fierce rivals, but off it, their tension evolves into a secret romantic relationship that explores themes of love, denial, identity, and vulnerability, all set against the pressure-filled world of professional sports. The show’s explicit scenes and emotional depth have turned it into a full-blown social media phenomenon.
Ricky and Jwan: coparenting goals
As for Ricky and Jwan, the former couple has been open about maintaining a strong, respectful relationship since their split. They were married from 2017 to 2023 and share two children, Lucía, 7, and Renn, 6. In past interviews, Ricky has emphasized how important communication has been in keeping their family dynamic healthy.
Speaking with Telenoticias Puerto Rico, Ricky shared that his children never witnessed arguments between him and Jwan. “Communication is the most important thing,” he said, explaining that any disagreements were handled privately through calm conversations, rather than conflict. As a result, their kids were largely unaware of what led to the end of the marriage.
Ricky has even joked that he and Jwan should write a book together about how to divorce the right way. “I told Jwan we should write a book on how to get divorced,” he said. “It’s been much easier than we thought, because we did it with time, patience, and calm. Jwan and I are going to be friends forever.”
