Teyana Taylor is making headlines after her incredible performance in One Battle After Another. Taylor won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a motion picture, surely making one of her dreams come true. But before she heard her name, she had another surreal moment on the red carpet, meeting her role model, Julia Roberts.
The stars collided at the Beverly Hilton on Sunday, and Roberts and Taylor's meeting immediately became a viral moment. The 35-year-old broke down in tears when she came face-to-face with the Oscar winner.
While the moment was adorable, some fans didnt like one of the comments that Roberts made. Taylor looked snatched, Roberts quipped that she needed a "sandwich."
The My Super Sweet 16 star addressed the moment on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where she made it clear that it was nothing but love, and an amazing moment for her. "It was so amazing, I just remember her parting the sea for me. She came through like Moses," Taylor said, recalling the moment before they met.
"She was floating. It was so scary how perfectly she was floating. I told her, " Don't come a step closer,' she continued. 'I just dived into her arms. It was just the cutest moment, and I started crying. We hadn't even walked into the venue yet," she continued.
Beaming, Taylor said, "She told me I need to eat a sandwich." "I saw people try to get on her about that, and I was like, hold on, she told me I need a sandwich cause she couldn't find my waist," Taylor said proudly, assuring "it was so cute."
Taylor has been open in the past about how Roberts was one of her role models. In an interview with Oscar Isaac, she told the Frankenstein star, "I’ve always been into how an actor can emote. I always wanted to be Julia Roberts or Kate Winslet."
The Globes blessed us with many hilarious moments, including a mystery surrounding Leonardo DiCaprio. DiCaprio went viral during the commercial break with an animated conversation that had people doing their best lip-reading to try to decipher what he was talking about with such enthusiasm.
Taylor thought he was talking to her because they had a similar, animated conversation about K-pop, but she later walked it back while talking to Fallon. She said they talked on the phone after she watched the lip-reading analysis. "They were doing the lip-read thing, and I had to call Leo," she said. "
"I'm like, 'I wasn't asking you... Like, I knew exactly what K-pop was because Chase taught me. So I was like, 'You can't be talking to me. Were you talking to me? Because I already told people you were talking to me ... So apparently he had two 'KPop Demon Hunter' conversations that night," she continued.
According to Taylor, DiCaprio doesn't even know who he was talking to. "He doesn't even remember who he was talking to," she said. "He was like, 'I don't even know.'"
